  Ok. I have two bunnies. They’re both female, but they’re not from the same litter. The eldest is 6 months (Sapphy) and younger one is 5 months (Heidi). I keep them in a hutch and they live indoors with us. They are let out in the back part of the house every morning and night, so these guys still have a pretty good lifestyle!!! I know at this age sexual maturity is a big part of her behaviour, but I’m wondering if you might give me some tips handling her.
  
  1. She’s started humping my younger bun, and is getting quite aggressive, to the point Heidi is actually frozen in fear.
  2. Growling at me!! Once again, quite aggressive, and when I was putting food in her bowl, she growled and bit my arm, hard!
  3. I can’t put her back in her cage without her growling at me/trying to bite me..
  4. Started to growl and bite Heidi..
  
  Before this, they were BFFs.. They cuddled together and ate together, now I’m worried I’m going to check on them and one of them will be dead!
  
  Is there a way I might be able to mildly control her behaviour? Just until we get her spayed..
  Please help quickly!

  They need to be separated and spayed yesterday. That is the only way to ensure the health and safety of both buns, as well as any chance of having them bond for real after they are recuperated.

  I agree with Sam and Lady’s Human. They need to be separated until they are spayed.
  
  Not only is is dangerous for them to fight for obvious reasons the more they fight now the harder it will be to bond them after they are spayed. Bunnies hold grudges against each other.

  Depending on your vet, they may both be able to be spayed this week or next. Even if the vet usually waits until 6 months to spay females, based on the situation, he/she may do both the same day so they can recover together. That would be ideal because then they might not have to be separated at all. If you cannot get them in this week, I would definitely separate them, even if it’s just by splitting their current pen in half. You do not want them to be in a full-blown fight.
  
  Do you have the spay scheduled, can you move it up?
