  Stickers took her acting up tonight to a new level and lunged at me trying to bite me for attempting to pick her up. Maybe a pet psychic isn’t a bad last resort, jersey.
  
  Edit: Powder sensed I was annoyed I guess, he crawled into my lap and laid down so I could pet him. lol

  Ashe does this… it’s usually triggered by motion though. I just pick her up anyway and snuggle her.

  Don’t feel bad. My husband picked Leopold up the other day and plopped him in my lap. Within a second or two, Leopold had his teeth sunk into my arm! He was obviously upset about being picked up and was taking his frustration out on me.
  
  I do wonder is Jessie is on to something though. Perhaps your hand was in her blind spot.

  Oh no, she knew I was trying to grab her. She was being bratty and annoyed with me and didn’t want to be picked up. She’s never lunged before, usually she just sits there and gives me a death glare once I catch her. :s Or thumps at me in annoyance. First time ever she’s tried to actually bite me.

  Hey Stickerbunny, I’m not sure if you remember members with their posts???? (I do – is that strange? lol!). Anyhow, I’m just starting to pick Henry up again (you may remember from my forum) and I actually ‘had’ to the other day to put him outside while the house was being sprayed for pests. Well, I didn’t get bitten but scratched (OUCH!). For the last 2 days he has snubbed us (luckily no death stares – scary), and is only just coming round. Not sure if it was because I picked him up and had to hold him for 2 minutes (not the 1 minute for a cuddle – we are still negotiating the contract, he wants 5 seconds, I want 60!) to get him outside into his outdoor cage – or whether he hated being left outside ALONE? (he’s never been outside before). In any case, I can’t help but wonder how far that has put me back? And how lucky that you have Powder to make you feel all good again with a lap cuddle. What did I get? Nothing! I had to even put my own band-aids on my scratches!

  I had tried the pushing head down, spraying when she tried to lunge, ect. I have found that “killing with kindness” has been most effective. I’m not sure if it’s because she was lunging to keep me away and learned it didn’t work anymore, but now it’s just when we move too quickly right in front of her (eyes on the side makes the blind spot in the front). She acts tough but she’s really a chicken We just move slow and try not to trigger her, but if she is triggered and attacks, we attack her back with snuggles and nose rubs. She hates it but it has stopped the behavior for the most part I was worried she would see this as a reward for bad behavior but I don’t think she does because she doesn’t really like being cuddled
