Sammy’s new favorite toy is a set of hard plastic baby keys on a key ring that I found at a major drug store chain in the baby supplies section. She tosses it, and uses it to rattle to get our attention when she wants to play. Best five bucks I’ve spent on a toy in years.
She used to have cuddle cups to sit in that are made for bunnies and cats, but I discovered that it had been chewed after all and the stuffing was coming out. It was about the time she had some tummy blockage, so I ended up throwing away her favorite cuddle cup because of that. I just didn’t feel it was safe enough. I got plain 100% cotton pieces of fabric (1/2 yd.) from a fabric store and bunched it up as a blankie, which she shapes herself, and she’s fine with that.
I really like getting bunny-specific toys from reliable stores, like BB’s store here or the Busy Bunny store, because they are designed with bunny safe materials, have been bunny tested, and often are liked by my bunny so I waste less money on toys that are ignored. Cat toys sometimes have things like catnip or bells in them that can be bad for bunnies if chewed open. Bird toys are made of the harder plastic and the edible woods, so often are a better choice.
