My bunny became the most naughty bunny in the whole world he chewed like 4-5 wires back of our TV. It all started when he liked going behind the TV, i hated it. So we made a barricade, but it didn’t work, and he kept getting though. I never thought that he would actually chew back there. Then when were were watching a movie, the cable went out, and we didn’t have volume. My dad look behind the TV. And said, “Oh my gosh, the bunny chewed up the wires back here,” His face was so shocked, and his face was filled with worry. And you know what, my bunny ran away from me when my dad saw the wires. Hmmm…..Wonder why?!?! The whole time my dad was fixing up the wires(thank goodness his that type who fixes things) My bunny was just in a flop under the table, he probaly doesn’t know that my dad was mad at him. And my dad was so mad that he called my bunny a “RODENT”!!!! AHHHHH!!!! . After he fixed two or three of the cords he said that the “Rodent” Has a get out of jail free card. “But one more, then the buns going outside,” he said. I was scared! So he made a proper barricade the next day,  but that day, he didn’t prepare my bunny his dinner, he alway prepares mr. kenny bunnies dinner . I did it. But the next day, he did prepare it, and petted my bun. The next day after that, my dad said good night to him . So yeah, that my report. I glad things turned out okay.

They love to chew wires, so might be a good idea even with the barricade there, to get some wire covers for the wires in case he slips back there again.

Halo once chewed up a N64 controller wire that was left too close to her cage. We thought it was out of her reach….but she managed to get it.

We lost count of how many cords Binky has chew. Its kinda scarey. But he always seems to get them. Thankfully the cord he has chewed were unplugged. We think he has magical powers, since the cords he’s gotten were never in reach. Hmmm. O.o

Yep. Bunnyproofing is a must. We ahve NIC grids put together going completely around the TV and entertainment center, so it can’t be pulled out of hte way. You will ahve to experiment with bunny proofing ideas to make it stand up to determined rabbits

I’m happy your bun didn’t get shocked from chewing wires while the TV was on!!  I make sure to put all wire up above ground level where Molly can’t reach them. She chewed my headphones one time cuz I left them laying on the floor :/ They love to chew wires cuz its like vines or roots that they would be clearing out of their den. Even the best baracades can be overcome by the cunning ways of mischevious buns!  You have to fortify things as if you are keeping out an elephant!  lol ok not really, but don’t underestimate the smarts of those bunnies!!

when i was younger my then bun managed to wrangle his way behind the fridge, which we where notified of by a huge bang and him zooming out from behind the fridge….a $400 repair bill later and the news that had he chewed the wire to the left he would have been an ex-bun, taught me that bunny-proofing is no small matter!

Keep wires and cords out of her way. Bunnies love to chew, it’s up to us as responsible owners to ensure they can’t chew anything that can harm them (or chew anything we don’t want damaged!)

How dangerous is it for a bunny to chew through a wire? Can they be shocked badly? I bunny broofed all the cords in my room so hopefully it won’t ever be an issue but I’m wondering how much it can hurt them

                              5V (USB cables) won’t hurt
24V (laptop chargers) that might sting a little bit
110VAC (US wall outlet) can make my arm go numb for a bit if I touch it. This will normally burn the mouth of a bunny that bites the wire
220VAC (Europe wall outlets and large appliances in the US) will send an adult to the hospital if they are lucky. It’s not looking good for a bunny
