mmmk. so my parents got sick of the smell of the rabbits, so they are going outside. ITS NOT A BAD THING THOUGH. we have a dog house with insolated walls and carpeted floor and wind blocked door. we are using that for the buns, and making a backyard attached to the dog house for them to be in.  ALOS we are keeping the old cage in the house so they come in when cold or raining and stuff. its really neat. i will post pics of it when its done. its really awsome.

SO yeah they pooped alot. i have to clean it, but they are using the litter box for pee.  OH and the big scary rat thing is to keep away anything like hawks. im thinking of making a people looking one. lolz we havent had foxes or hawks in our teritory for ages. and we live in a neighborhood, so foxes wouldnt come in. my dad said. You might want to lay down some rag rugs until you can change the floors.  Rocks aren’t good for their tender feet!  I might also suggest getting some chicken wire and covering everything (the grid fence & a ceiling from the house to the grid fence).  You will want to make sure that they are completely protected from any birds and even area cats & dogs.

i started decorating it. it has a solar light outside by the deck, so they have light outside. and also, i cleaned up inside. im gonna add more nice things to their house in the future.

Though the wood housing looks good, I am really worried about a couple of things.

The NIC cubes are really not the most secure thing to have as far as outside fencing goes. It doesn’t seem like it would take much for a determined predator to knock that down or even jump over. Do you have a top for that? Raccoons can be dangerous too!  As well as outdoor cats. Hawks are not always easy to spot, so since you are forced to have these bunnies outside, I really recommend that you make a more secure covered fenced in area. As it is now, it’s not safe.

FYI: I live in a close knit neighborhood grid, with homes just about 8 feet away from each other, and we have raccoons and hawks all the time. The other day a hawk flew right into our back tree taking a blue jay. And raccoons come right up to our back door.   Even when I lived in San Francisco, the raccoons would climb up the endless narrow stairs up to people’s back porches high off the ground. (I actually have  a video tape of that)

I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have more secure fencing there. I also recommend having a tighter netted type of fence to prevent mice and rats from getting in. The Bunny food and water will attract them.

Please do this asap, as each night they are there with that fencing they are at risk.  I would bring them in until you get that fixed.

could you build some framing using the fence as an anchor and attach the fencing material to that?

Well that will be good – to make it safer. I’m glad your dad is up for doing that. Also, you will have to be even more diligent about litterbox cleaning as you don’t want their boxes to attract flies and cause flystrike, so be sure that both you and your sister really keep their outdoor area clean.

that house is luxurious! but be warned that i live in London and it is completely surrounded by terraced houses and still a fox got into my garden and started playing football with my buns toys on the roof of their dog kennel! you need to make sure it is safe.

                              two ways of doing this:

                              1) lock them in unless you are out there watching them.
                              2) Get a proper external fence put around and over it.

Otherwise they are very lucky bunnies!

and, i’m suddenly glad i live in a city in the UK. Foxes are literally the only issue! Saying that though, cat’s aren’t too friendly either, and i’m sure a badger would have his wicked way out in the countryside if he could.

                              always be vigilant!
