I was going to clean out the buns litter and I look in there and see this thing of fur.  I’m like “Well it can’t be a hair ball” and thought maybe a bunch of hair was in poo or something.  I picked it up with a paper towel and AHHHH!!!  I’m almost positive that it was a flattened mouse!    We got our hay from a farm and left part of it in the garage.  It must have been from the farm since it was flattened (I think).  Hubby is out at the store so I took all their hay and the litter and put it to the side so he can look at it to make sure.  Should I take them to the vet??  Ugh that was so gross!

GROSS!!! I don’t know that I’d bother with the vet-Mice aren’t the cleanest beings but he was dead a long time ago and I’m sure that it’d be OK. I think someone on here found a mouse skull before in their hay-yuck!!

That’s a bit of a relief!  I was worried they might get something!  I had an extra bag of timothy hay from the store that I put in their rack for now.

Ew a skull?!  I might take that over something flat and fluffy

I would not worry – I know we’ve found dead animals in the hay at the sanctuary I help at and I think I’ve found dead things in my hay orders too. It is yucky but nothing to worry about.
