I usually brush Huckleberry once every week to week and a half. She usually doesn’t need it all that often because her fur is short. However, I finally got tired of her running around like PigPen from Charlie Brown, except instead of a dust cloud following her, its a fur cloud. So I decided we were going to sit down and do a nice long grooming session. She bit and kicked and grunted! She hates being groomed. I hate that I have to be so firm with her.

I thought I would share some pics. Even she had to say “Dang, I look good!”  when it was all said and done.

Here is the ball of fur I worked out of her coat. (That white stuff is sawdust, I was working on a sculpture earlier and I am awful about cleaning up)

Anyways, any of your buns blowing out their coats? I feel bad for my vacuum cleaner

Monkey has been blowing hers, its quite hilarious. She has a big bum right now

Moose and Smudge don’t seem to be doing so… yet.

Lolli’s been blowing hers out for a couple of months now. I think. I don’t remember when she started. LOL I *think* she’s starting to slow down. Knock on wood.

And she gets all huffy about it. She tries to bite me but I got smart and put a towel on my lap so she bites that instead of me. I put her pen up so when she escapes, she can’t go anywhere. So I just pick her back up and put her on my lap and continue. She eventually gives up and just deals with it while huffing at me. Then she spends about 10 minutes bathing herself to get my cooties off her. LOL

              Eeeeeeee hucklebumba!

Yeeeeppp, shedding season started Febuary. I swear I plucked off lotsa fur… enough to make another Chacha bun. Her fur is starting to grow back in but there are times I see fur sticking up and I pull at it… and fur comes out.

Oh a towel! That’s smart, I think I’ll borrow that idea next time. She bit my upper thigh. That is a very tender area! Huckles did that never-ending blow out in August-October. I thought it would never end!!! I feel for you, Michelle.

Monkey, I hope that Moose and Smudge don’t jump on the bandwagon!!! Lol @ Monkey, her bum is big? That just makes me crack up!!! I imagine that when stretched out with the oh-so-cute tush and toes pose, you cant help but snuggle snuggle snuggle! Of course, then again, when can any of us resist that.

ChaCha! Why on Earth didnt you save that fur and make another ChaCha? Perhaps the world cant handle that much sass lol, but still. I adore her face, the coloring makes her look like she is consistently Disapproving Bunny! She’s such a doll.

Huckles must feel a lot better now because rather than sitting across the room and sending Voodoo vibes at me like she normally does, she sat at my feet and licked my jeans for an hour.

I actually did save that fur It is in a plastic baggy! Hehe! I am going to make something out of it later, like a needle felted version of a mini chacha bun

Oh, she is ALWAYS disapproving. She footflicks me all the time.. comes to me, stomps and runs away. I try to pet her but she runs off.. She is a weird bunny

At my old house, I used to have more counter space. I put down a towel and I put bunny on top of it and plucked and brushed. be sure to close the door and make sure huckle bunny doesn’t jump off if you attempt this I have to do it on my toilet seat now since I don’t have much space anymore -_________-

Hehehe yeah, she looks soooo funny. Her bum is twice as fluffy as the rest of her right now, ghetto booty bunny!

As soon as I plucked out some fur (a few weeks ago!) there was fur already growing back, as you can see

Heh, Spencer is in full coat blow out mode. It’s really funny, he’s such a fluff ball and then he blows his coat and it’s like, holy cow, who are you and what happened to my bunny! He’s also being static-y right now, so he looks extra absurd. All of his butt tufts float around and stick straight out. Luckily, he’s very easy to brush. I just give him his pellets on the floor instead of in the cage, he chows down and I brush. It works pretty well. Kate on the other hand, grabs the brush and runs off with it.

I put the brush on the floor to see if it would help Lolli get used to it. All she did was to keep trying to fling it and look grumpy at me. lol Lolli’s method of shedding is to have tufts start sticking out. When you pluck, it’s like it just keeps coming and coming.

Wow, Chacha, that is funny! Never can get ahead, can we? But hopefully that new fur wont come out for a while and your lint roller can get a rest.
I would LOVE to see a pic of Spencer with his coat going crazy. Those pics you posted of them lounging still crack me up. He is one silly looking bunny, but in a very snuggleable way.
It sounds like Kate and Lolli do what Huckles does. Brushing usually starts out with me getting bit, then her taking the brush and grunting, then me trying to brush while she is spinning around to grab the brush, then me finally grabbing her more firmly, then her grabbing me more firmly (ouch) and then finally her sitting still for a few minutes but plotting what item of mine she is going to chew.. I haven’t found her vengeance calling card from this last brushing yet, but she came around and cuddled so quickly, I am pretty sure that whatever it was, it was something very important to me… I think Ill go check my paintings now!
