Can anyone please give me some advice because my spayed rabbit is still very aggressive and territorial and tries to fight my other rabbit constantly 😕

I moved this thread to Behavior.

Can you give us more information? Is this a bonded pair? Or do they live separately? Is the other rabbit spayed/neutered?

How long ago was she spayed? Their hormones will run wild for around a month (maybe longer) after the spay, hormone driven behaviors can actually get worse during that time.

I agree with Hazel’s inquiry. There is a “spike” some people say following a spay/neuter, where behaviors are amplified before settling down.

Another question would be if the behavior is caused by some sort of pain or discomfort your rabbit may be experiencing as a result of the spay or something else. Many animals may feel the need to be more aggressive/defensive when they are frustrated/strained by an injury of some sort. How is her eating, pooping, and activity level?

They are not bonded I thought they could be since Bella is now spayed and it’s been about a month. Her eating and litter patterns are the same honestly. I’m taking both of them to the vet Thursday for check ups and shots, so if Bella is in any pain the vet will tell me. It just scared me cause my other bunny’s room is down the hall way and Bella got out of my room and attacked anyone that went in the hallway.

Sounds like she might still be a bit hormonal. I would give her a couple more weeks to calm down. You could hop on over to the bonding section for some in depth information about the process. Have you done any prebonding? It’s important to do a few weeks of prebonding (swapping litterboxes etc) before attempting an actual bonding session.

                  Is the other rabbit fixed?

No, my other one is too small to get fixed yet  and yes I swapped out toys and litter boxes. Thank you so much for all the advice

In that case I would keep them separated until a month after the second bun has been fixed and then start the bonding process. 🙂
