My bunny had a huge bladder stone removed two days ago.  I brought her home yesterday and she is still in pain, which is to be expected since the stone was shaped irregularly and was rough so that it was abrading the interior of her bladder.

She is on pain meds and antibiotics but do you think when the pain goes away, that she will return to using her litterbox?  She is going on puppy pads now, poor thing.  But I am so very lucky to still have her since she is 11 years old.

        Thank you.

Best wishes to you and your bun. 11 years old is such a marvelous age.

I can’t see why not, though a reminder may be needed since she probably isn’t used to doing it for a while.

Oh bless! Sending some {{{vibes}}} her way. She should be far more comfortable with that stone gone.

I suppose only time will tell.. it’s not only the incision that is healing but also the damaged inner walls. It just may take some time, given that she is elderly.

Can you see she still has the sensation that she is going to pee?
