Advice for a more snuggly relationship

Any tips and advice? my bunny will be pet and pet sitting next to me and will tooth purr, but never gets on my lap or chest and won’t be held, and never licks.. Idk if she likes me or not but what can be done for a more snuggly rabbit? I know every rabbit is different and she won’t necessarily become snuggly, but nevertheless what can I do?

You can’t force a rabbit to become something it isn’t. Most rabbits do not like being picked up, most tolerate it at best. All you can do is make sure she feels very comfortable in her home and in your presence.

It’s a time thing, bandit is the same way but refuses to lap or jump high. I eventually think he will but it just takes time

Luna won’t be held unless we are at the vet or if I’m carrying her away from the nail trimming (kitchen) table. Sometimes if she is laying on the floor she will let me wrap my arms around her to snuggle. For some reason, she will lick me every once in a while, but only my knee. If your bun lets you pet her and tooth purrs, I wouldn’t worry whether or not she likes you, because she does . I would just keep spending time with her, and maybe she will become more snuggly later on or maybe she won’t. Even if she isn’t snuggly later on, that doesn’t mean she is not happy being with you.

Unfortunately, Wick is the runt from his litter, so he got very little attention from his mom and siblings.

Fortunately, he’s such a snuggle bunny because he values attention and physical contact a lot. He follows and approaches for pets, but prefers cuddles. He will make intermittent, happy grunts when your face is actually planted and snuggling against his face and body. Shockingly, he’ll do this when he’s pet while being carried. He’s prone to falling asleep while carried and pet. It’s a sad origin, but in the end, I’m glad I’m able to provide him with the love he really wanted growing up as a baby.

As you and others have said, it can’t be forced. At the end of the day, I think seeing your rabbit being happy as can be because of the environment you’ve created can make you an ecstatic owner, even if cuddling isn’t involved
