Hello All, I think many of you helped me when my bun had cecal dysbiosis after a GI stasis recovery. I am still recovering from the trauma and started seeing a psychologist.

My situation is a little different now. I am finishing my medical school and waiting for the residency result. Possible that I will be moving to another province. I was wondering what would be the best to adopt a bunny after moving or before moving and then take the buns with me.

Another question is, my residency training will be both time and energy-consuming, in that case, how do I deal with giving appropriate time to my buns? I am confused about how people deal with long working hours.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

I would move and then get settled in before considering adopting again. It will also allow you to settle into your residency training and get a better sense of your routine to ensure you are able to make time for them. If you are working long hours the best thing is to adopt a bonded pair so that they can keep each other company too 🙂

I work full time and have 5 pets, it is tough to fit in everything that I want to do every day, especially with my job being physically exhausting. The cats are easy to make time for because they usually follow me around with whatever I’m doing, but I definitely have to go out of my way more to spend time with the rabbits. Work life balance is generally terrible I feel, you do what you can, and learn to prioritise. For me, down time is more important than some untidy things, or a few dishes that need washing etc. We cook large meals to last us 3 nights instead of cooking every night etc. I don’t mind if things are messy, but I don’t let them get dirty. It really is about prioritising and deciding what you can and can’t live with, lol. Also there really is a lot of time in the day if you don’t spend too much time watching tv or scrolling facebook like I sometimes do 😛

Thanks so much for the response. I gree with you, I think I should move first and see the situation. In the meantime, I will start volunteering in a local rescue, just to spoil the bunnies 😀

I agree with Azerane. 🙂 If you don’t already have a bun, definitely easiest to move first, get settled in your new schedule and place, and then think about adopting.

Thanks so much. I just found out, I am moving for my next journey and it’s in a big city. So my plan is to move first and then adopt.

Yes, definitely easier to move first. Less stressful for you and your future bunnies. Finding time when working long hours can be difficult. It helps if the bunnies are kept in an area where you naturally spend time. That way you can read or watch TV or whatever and interact with them at the same time.
