Chuck is EXPLORING!!! I cannot belive it!! I’ve been putting them in the corner of the living room to hang out for their out time, and tonight, with some prompting from mom-Chuck has left the corner and just did a full run around the living room!!
He’s not even following Noot-Noot is following him! He just went and ‘mapped out’ the whole living room and twice went under the coffee table without bumping his head!! I just can’t believe it.
And, not only does Noot know his name (You just call Noot and he comes running) but when I tell him “Go find Chuck” he bombs off after Chuck!! ![]()
(I can’t find my camera…think I left it at work…Pictures later!!)
This is so wonderful! What a godsend Noot is! And how smart too!!!! YAY!!!
Says something for their emotional well being doesn’t it!
That is such terrific news! ^_^ Obviously old friends from lifetimes ago that are at last reunited and off to new adventures!
I’m so happy for them both. And you too! ^_^
Aww – that’s awesome! I love that Chuck, he’s one of my favs. Too bad you’ll be moving soon, he’ll have to remap everything! 🙂 Keeps it interesting, I guess.
That’s awesome! I’m gonna go tell my boyfriend and he’ll just grumble at me, but I’m happy for you!
I’m still in utter disbelief! We’d tried putting him down before but he’d just find a corner and look miserable. It was so hard to make him comfortable in a new area. Guess we couldn’t have done it on our own! Chuck did about six runs around the living room, even going under all the coffee tables without bumping his head and under the lounge chairs. He ventured out of the room onto the lino but decided to head back.
Generally if he does go anywhere it’s frantic and we just stopped trying-but tonight it was calm running around if that makes sense. When he went back to the corner he flopped rather then hiding-and he just kept leaving and running around! It’s fantastic because he could only get exercise digging before -which was fine but I was so happy to see him running around! And Noot binkying behind him!! (And Chuck does need his exercise, he’s a bit of a chunky-monkey!
)
That is so amazing!
Chuck is also one of my absolute favorites, and I am so happy for him.
Just when you think you know them they do something new.
Noot is like a little angel bunny. Course, he probably feels the same way about Chuck. What a great thing you’ve done for them both.
I’m sure they will help you move in and go exploring together. Do you think your other two will interact with Chuck more if he’s out and about with Noot?
That is amazing! way to go Chuck and Noot.
I’m thrilled – but not surprised!
Noot sure is Chucks guardian angle bun!
Way to go Chuck!!!! That is so great that you ended up bringing Noot home. ps. I want more pics of him in the very near future!
Theirs is another story to add to all the evidence of what “companion bunnies” can do for special needs bunnies. A great learning experience and one to pass on to others. The old “get another bunny” problem solving adage has really proved itself in this case!
now my eyes are all leaky….
Bless them both.
awww! my eyes are all leaky too *sniff sinff* big yays for chuck and his confidence booster bunny noot!!!
YAY CHUCK!![]()
What a great thing to hear. Noot sounds like quite a bunny angel.
It’s just been wonderful having Noot! Chuck is soo content -you can just tell
It’s so sweet!
moooore pictures! please~!
—no problem on more pics-nothing I like more then bunny pictures!! ![]()

My house is a MESS right now-one full time paying job (where I’m covering two other jobs because of labour shortages… so having to work over full-time hours and STILL behind…) and two full time volunteer jobs(Ok, plus a few on the side!) does not leave much time to clean(Dave says I’m a VERY bad house wife!!!
)
-but when I get back from vacation-I’ll get some videos of Chuck romping around. It’s incredible. I thought he’d do well as a blind bun, but then learning he was deaf and quite nervous was hard. He didn’t like exploring-Now with Noot and great confidence he’s doing so wonderfully I want you all to see how he is able to run around!! No more ‘diggy box’ as the only exercise-my Chuck can run!!
I can’t recall Chucks history. I know you travelled some to get him. Do you think or know if he ever had a buddy at any point beforehand?
Chuck was ‘kidnapped’ by a girl-he was being kept in the cold on the porch of a crackhouse in Vancouver-in a hamster cage with nothing to eat but his wood shavings-his eyes were so infected one was removed. So when I decided I needed another special needs bunny we made a road trip and went to Vancouver for him-it’s not that far-we took a detour to grab my girlfreind in Calgary, so it was about 13 hours each way.
The lady from VRRA told me he gets along with everyone, so I’m assuming he got to play with other bunnies there. I *know* she wouldn’t have bonded him with someone and seperated them-soooo I don’t think he ever had a bonded buddy but he has interacted with other buns. He definitely is the bunny who would get on with anybun though-there is no fight in him-just love ![]()
Thanks for sharing more pictures! I’m so happy for Chuck!
