What are the symptoms of a rabbit having ear mites? A friend wanted me to check her rabbit and he has some dry, crusty looking stuff in his ear, but I wasn’t sure since I never seen it before. I’ve seen a cat with ear mites but the mites affecting rabbits are different, is that correct?

Yes, that is true about ear mites according to my vet.

Dry crusty stuff could be ear wax too. Is she scratching her ears alot? If the ear mite infestation is not really bad then you won’t really be able to tell unless the vet does a scraping.

Okay thanks. I’ll pass on that info.
