Hello!
I am kind of nervous, and I just need some more information. I have a 4 year old mini velveteen rex named Becka. She has a 2ft by 6ft closet that has her litter box/ toys/ food that she goes in at night and when I am not home. Today I have been home all day working and so she has been out. She ate (and begged
) normally for breakfast/hay/dinner. However, it is late tonight and she is sitting next to me on the floor and all the sudden she just grunted.
Now, I know that bunnies grunt. She does all the time when I go to feed her or brush her when she just wants to be left alone. And so, I know the “normal grunting” but this was abnormal. She sounded almost like she was trying to cough or had something in her throat. She only did it twice within 3 seconds then I jumped on here to ask you all!
I just picked her up about 5 minutes before it happened and I usually don’t. I pick her up about 3 times a week give or take a few. But she’s never made that sound ever. I thought that maybe I just upset her stomach by moving her. What do you all think? Was it a burp? lol
Again, nothing abnormal has happen, nothing new, nothing changed. Now she is bathing herself so it doesn’t seem like she was choking or anything serious. I just wondered what that was and if anyone has seen that before. Maybe I’m just being an overprotective mom…
Thank you all for reading, and potential response. I appreciate being apart of this online community, and having support when I need it!
Have a great night, or morning, wherever you’re reading this from.
