Hi All! School just started and I’m taking a big load this semester. I’m also going to try and study hard for optometry school admissions this year while working full-time. Therefore, I can’t take care of my Black Dutch rabbit named Oreo. Would anyone be willing to adopt him?

        Pros:
Goes to one corner of his cage to poop/pee
Doesn’t wander too far from home (I’ve left the cage door open for 24 hours and he never really wanders off to the street…sometimes to the neighbour’s but that’s it.)
VERY clean (cleans himself 8 hours/day)

        Cons:
Not too touchy-feely (He likes the occasional pet on the head, but I can’t seem to hold him.)
Kind of dumb (oh well, he’s a rabbit. What do you expect?)

OMG, where does this guy live, so I can go kick his @#@ for being an infantile loser wastoid with skewed priorities, no heart, and a tragic lack of responsibility?! (Look at me, assuming it’s a guy…I’m not gender biased. I’ll do some damage if it’s a girl, too!)

Wish I still lived there. I think I’d have to make room for this poor wee bun.

oh what a total bum, i hate how people get animals and then when their life changed they just go ‘ah cant be bothered anymore’ like they think animals are just disposable, i hate people like that i kept my two dogs even when my house started leaking and i had to move in where there was no yard for like a month and it was total hell but i would never have said ‘oh well i have no yard so bye bye dogs!’ no i walked them every spare second so they werent peeing all over my sofas >.<

ugh, i HATE HATE HATE these ads. I once saw one where the person said something like ‘comes with cage, food, water bottle, and collar.’ like really? who keeps a COLLAR on a bunny? and in the pictures it had a dog collar type thing around its neck.

I especially hate when they ask for an “adoption fee” and you can tell they just want money. :'(

I feel your pain – I saw this one on craigslist last night:

I have a Black Bunny named Oreo for sale have a cage, some of the bedding stuff. Looking to get rid of it asap. Got for my kids but they are not taking care of it like they should. So if interested let me know thanks email me at *********

Not entirely sure it’s the same one I saw a while ago. That one said something like “bought it for my 3 year old, but she’s not taking care if it like she should”

You’d think parents would realize that kids lose interest in things (especially when they involve chores).

A 3 year old is not capable of taking care of themselves much less a pet. I talked to a lady who was trying to find a home for her guinea pig once because her 4 year old wasn’t taking care of it! Oh boy.

I hate ads (and people) like that.

People that think pets are disposable are heartless and irresponsible. Do you give your kid away because you’re suddenly in a busier stage of your life? Why are pets so different? Animals deserve a committed relationship too. They want to know they are loved and will always have a safe, happy home.

What an idiot! My sister and BIL teach optometry AND had a house rabbit. Wish he was in her class, she’d flunk him for sure
