So for most of this week and next week my mom and I are looking after some friends’ rabbits. Being their temporary caretakers, I decided to buy them some organic red leaf lettuce as a treat (I got a bunch for $2) since I don’t know how often they get veggies. So yesterday I gave them a little bit. Most of them quickly devoured it up and kept wanting more, but I resisted since I didn’t want to upset their tummies (since I didn’t know if they’d eaten it before).

Fast-forward to this morning. When we approached the hutches, the bunnies were doing Bunny 500s and binkies when they saw us approaching with the treats. All of them eagerly took the lettuce this morning (again, in small amounts) and were not afraid to approach the cage doors to beg us for more. Even the babies were trying to nibble on the greens. It was so cute seeing them zoom around and act more relaxed (and mischievous!) around us. Even though I know that I won’t be able to care for them forever, it still warms my heart to think of them enjoying their lettuce for at least the next week. And it makes me look forward to getting my own and making them happy. *insert heart eyes emoji here*

Oh, I’m definitely thinking about it! Just need more financial stability first. And I’ll probably spend the rest of the summer building a C&C cage too

That’s so great! Wish you luck, having bunnies is amazing, but hard work at the same time too.

A wonderful beginning to a new love story! I am truly so glad that you have enjoyed these little darlings and found the love of Buns! I understand the financial stability concerns… you can do it! Coming from a single mom on disability living in the second most expensive state in the US, I understand and you can do it! For the love of Bunnies!
