I’m considering making a short video of clips with Mr Roger. I saw a video of someone’s dog after it died and since then I’ve tried to have clips of all my pets, rather than just photos. My wife says that I’m morbid, lol.
It got me thinking, since Roger is so quiet – what song would I put in the background. I’m not great with song names and can’t think of anything fitting. I have a sneaking suspicion it’s going to be ‘Hey there Delilah’, despite having little relevance because it’s my wife and Roger’s song. She takes great pleasure in singing her own variant ‘Hey there Mr Roger, don’t worry about New York City; you’re a rabbit.’
So, what backing track would you use? Alternative, any suggestions for me?

I like to think Meki’s song is the theme from Studio Ghibli’s “Ponyo”. She gets happier and binkies whenever she hears it, but when I sing it to her I change “ponyo” to “Meki” and “fishie” to “bunny”.
So if Mr. Roger has a connection with Hey There, Delilah, I don’t see a need to find anything different. It’s a song that you sing for him! You wouldn’t want to pick any old song that doesn’t really have a connection to your bunny because it won’t feel the same years down the line when you watch the video. If you went with Hey There Delilah, watching it would spark back memories of singing “his” song for him =)
Hm, I suppose. I guess I was just thinking of something a bit happier… I have visions of watching it back and being really sad about him being ‘a thousand miles away’. It just seems like a really odd song for a rabbit.
I might try it though, could be fun to start or end the recording of wifey singing to him.
It’s really cute that Meki binkies when her song is played! You can see she’s really listening in the video! Unfortunately, I’m not sure Mr Roger actually cares about his song, haha.
Only two of our bunnies have songs. Its the songs I sing to them sometimes.
Roxie’s is Roxanne by The Police. For obvious reasons lol
Annie’s song is Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. I change the words in the beginning a bit:
Hello!
Is there Annie bunny out there?
Is Annie bunny listening?
Is there Annie bun at all?
Lol
I wonder if you could do a medley of songs Paradigm? If you make this video we get to see it right?!
Shamrock’s (Rocky) song is obvious–“Eye of the Tiger” hahaha.
No so sure about Pumpkin.
Hilarious BM!
I would play that song all the time just to see Meki binky!!
I have always liked this as a song for pet videos, I can’t find the real song right now for some reason.
This is a beer commercial btw-

This as well as “You are My Sunshine.”
The main memory I have regarding Lily and music is when I had the William Tell Overture playing and she started doing zoomies. It was awesome.
I think an upbeat celtic instrumental would suit a rabbit though. Something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h33YYpRKXE
and this always makes me want to jump around the room https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mR8RyZNzG8
LEL— “You are my sunshine” was sung to me as a baby all the time. I’ve always sung that to my pets. It’s a nice song. ![]()
Oh, and I listened to that video LEL, and it is a nice song for making Videos.
I’ve kinda liked the song “Half a heart” by One Direction for slow/sweet/sad pet videos.
Some of the lyrics:
“And being here without you,
It’s like I’m waking up to,
Only half a blue sky,
Kinda there, but not quite.
I’m walking ’round with just one shoe,
I’m a half a heart without you.
I’m half a man at best,
with half an arrow in my chest,
I miss everything we do.
I’m half a heart without you.”
Thanks for the ideas, guys. I’ll definitely look into upbeat Celtic instruments. Filming Roger has been a palava. Between getting the lighting right(I’m only just learning how to play with the settings – mostly I rely on my wife changing them for me.), managing to get the camera when her Important Photos aren’t taking up the memory cards and stacking books to show how much he likes being stroked, most of my videos have either been him doing something really dull (when I’m behind the camera) or with the shot too high or low.
It shall be a project for me, to say the least. Hopefully my wife will decide she really wants a tripod sometime soon, lol. Or… decide she doesn’t mind doing videography.

Wanted to upload a video of him being cheeky but I’ve forgotten my old YouTube account and google refuses to allow me to upload a video without also changing my name on my gmail and creating me a google+ page… ffs.
I’m an Irish dancer and I would recommend some songs called “reels” or “slip jigs”. If you go on youtube and type in “Irish reel” or “Irish slip jig” you’ll find something good. Otherwise a good Irish band with upbeat songs would be Gaelic Storm- if you’ve ever seen Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprio, they were the band playing during the Steerage Party =)
As for youtube, I found a way to bypass that one is to log out of any gmail account you have and try logging onto your youtube that way, you can log back into your gmail once you’re in your youtube. It’s what I have to do everytime I change my password on my school’s email that is powered by gmail. It’s a pain in the butt, but I haven’t had to convert my account so far!
