        Ok.  so morelands fur looks a little damp i think may be oily. under his chin possibly from his gland?   he goes in for his nuter tomorrow and they stated they dont clean the gland its a spay nueter clinic only that is all they do, and are reputible in my area for rabbits.  they also dont offer pain meds????   this is not his regular vet.  they were reffered by the rescue. So how long after his nueter should i wait before i try and mess with him to get that gland cleaned, and when i do how do i clean it? i would do it tonight before however he is so feisty right now i will for sure get bit.  and not bunny rito for him.  he is so moody.  will he be fine a few days?

          the scent gland under his chin, is that what you mean? that shouldn’t need to be cleaned. i believe only the anal glands ever need to be cleaned. some of the low cost spay/neuter programs don’t offer pain meds, which is unfortunate. it’s one of the things they cut-out to make it lower-cost. i’d personally prefer to pay more to be sure my bunny was comfortable, but i know that’s not always an option for people. will they give pain meds if you pay extra?  it’s not *as big* of a deal for males since it is a much simpler/ less invasive procedure.  i feel bad for the girls tho.  ouch.

            I thought she meant his chin got oily while he was down in the nether regions fishing for his cecals.

              it just looked like the fur was damp or oily i haven not excessive.  it could be while he was searching for cecals?? i haven’t been able to get ahold of the bugger with out getting attacked lately.

              any recommendations on checking the neuter site after the surgery?  he hates getting touched and i dont want to stress him out?  Should i attempt the bunnyrito?

              i fail at it miserably.

                Hi! Daffodil has this same issue and it is actually caused from her drinking from the water crock. I groom it regularly and sometimes trim it a little shorter so it dries quicker and prevents it from matting and holding the moisture close to her skin which has the potential to cause problems. She won’t drink out of a bottle so I’ve learned to keep an eye on her chin.

                      {{VIBES}}

                      To check the incision, just ensure there is no swelling (besides a small amount to be expected) any discolorations (besides pink) and no seeping fluids (blood or otherwise).

                      If they don’t give pain meds, feel free to go ask your regular vet for some ‘after neuter pain meds’, usually metacam. It won’t cost too much and it’ll speed recovery although, not Necessary I would prefer mine have them

                      Anal glands are easy!

                      Make sure you plug your nose with tissue, flip bunny upside down (trance or burrio method) and use warm, wet cuetips to clean the glands, they are located on either side of the genitals and can be opened easily by gently pulling them apart. The stuff that needs to be cleaned is an ear waxy deposit (but it may be hard) and its yellow-to-black in color depneding on the last time they were cleaned.

                      They can certainly wait until he’s all healed up to clean
