Can I feed my bun’s (2 yrs old and 8 mos. old) unlimited greens and veggies from the suggested staple list?
Please excuse the mess, this is their room and they can be quite messy! Of course, mommy could have vacuumed first…..but I’m lazy today!![]()

*edited to add – How do you post pics????
LOL Ok, you already have photobucket so your set; Just right click ‘copy’ the pic, then ‘paste’ in the message body (add reply not quick reply)
Also unlimited greens might be hard on the wallet! But if cost is no issue then you could-just ensure hay is unlimited too; you do offer pellets sometimes; AND ease up to full greens-add greeens slowly and increase amounts slowly
Ok, let’s try it again!!!

Thanks for the help!!!!
Awwww, no one wants to comment on the bunnys that I think are just precious?
it’s only 8am here, I just woke up enough to focus and saw your buns! they ARE gorgeous! is the black one a rex? I love your setup
Kathy
That looks like a cool setup. I like the multicolored grid panels. Is the big black area a dog crate? Your black and white bunny had very distinctive markings. In the one picture he/she has at look on her face like “Must you take another pucture?”
I love the markings on the face of the black and white one! And the black one I just want to pick up and cuddle! Very, very cute!
I offer a lot more greens than most people I think- you could probably consider it unlimited during the day at least- then at night I take greens away and give them a small amnt of pellets (and unlimited hay all day of course). My vet says this is good for my two at least- and that they seem very healthy so I don’t see why it would be a problem as long as they seem ok with it and they’re still eating hay (and the money, but I found I can get greens at a discount grocery store for really cheap- less than $1 per day per bun!)
That salad looks delicious! Haha sorry I’m not too helpful right now…
WE are all going to your bunnies house to eat their salads!!!! EHheeha. They are very pretty. That distinctive face on the blacknwhite. REal cute. Mess ….. What mess. I didnt’ see a mess. No really it looks nice n neat. Here I have hay on the floor and an occassional poop. I vac almost everyday.
Awww those are some cute spoiled little bunnies!!
The black and white one is named Joey and he is a lionhead/dutch. He’s also the most adventurous and people oriented. My black one is Phoebe, she is a britannia petite, and she’s more reserved then Joey but still a little sweety.
The cage started out as just one for Joey and then Phoebe came along so I improvised a second cage for her using a dog cage. Now that they’ve bonded I connected the two cages together but the doors are never shut so they free roam in their room and probably don’t even need the cages anymore but I’m hesitant to take them down…..I’m sure the minute I do I’ll need them!!!
The reason I asked about the greens (btw, thanks for the compliment about their salad…my husband swears I love my buns more because he never gets anything as nice as their salads!!! lol) is it seems I give them a lot and I didn’t know if it was possible for me to over do it. They get the amount of pellets (according to their weight) daily and unlimited hay. I’m feeding 4 different types of hay – timothy, orchard grass, brohme and oat. I hope that’s ok?
I’m pretty new at this and now can’t understand why I waited so long. I still think to myself everytime I look at their beautiful little faces “Is there anything more precious and cute then a bunny?” Nope, there isn’t!!!!!!![]()
aww bless they kind of work as a pair one with white & black patches and one with black and some white patches!!! hehehe so adorable
On my vets advice I feed my bun unlimited greens, unlimited hay and no pellets and thats worked for him. The vet says that my bun is the healthiest he has seen so I can’t see why it would be a problem. They are so adorable, I might bunny-nap them!
What do you have as the flooring? Looks good
my buns have carpet but cleaning up their mess on it is driving me mad and I’m looking for a beter option.
The flooring in the cages is coroplast and the floor in the room is indoor/outdoor carpeting. Since they’re pretty good at using the boxes I don’t have problem with that but the hay is a bite to clean up!
I love the way you have plonked the salad bowl in the middle of the room for them to help themselves.
I’m thinking I need to move into your house. The set up and fabu salad are just my speed. My rabbits get better salads than I do and I’m a vegetarian just like them LOL! I think that lots of veggies and hay w/ supplemental pellets is the most ideal. Some people don’t do pellets at all just veggies and hay. My only issue is that during the winter season the veggies are not as fresh & pleniful. I love spring/summer when I can go directly to the farmer’s market!
