I just found a small amount of fur on the floor…Looks like pulled out as it was in one piece, not scattered around. Judging by the color it must be from underneath and the belly area. The rest of the body has different colors. It’s the first time it happens and of course the first thing I thought about was false pregnancy. Could it be something else? The amount was very small, like half of a little finger.

Then I was on the floor and had my toes in front of Phoebe. She usually bumps her nose on my toes which I find cute and was just waiting to see what she will do. And she started licking my big toe. She licked it two times and then she looked another way and stood still. I was thrilled as she never licks me anywhere and I put my foot near her again to see if she will lick. And what she did was to growl at me and then she bit my toe, not too hard. I am pissed right now and a bit upset. What is going on with that behavior? In the past she would very rarely give my slight bites but not in an aggressive way..It was like ‘go now I want to play alone’. Apart from that she has never been aggressive towards me. Maybe I pissed her off with putting my foot in front of her?

          Sounds hormonal to me.

My foster bunny, Smudge, came to me after she started plucking out fur from her neck area. False pregnancy thing. Your Phoebe may just be thinking she’s ready for babies. And the nips and aggression is hormonal too Smudge still gets a bit territorial with my feet in her pen

Sounds like she is more than ready for that spay

She is pulling the fur off her dewlap, because she is getting ready to make a nest = false pregnancy.

And her other reaction towards you, could definitely sound like she is going through hormonal mood swings due to her false pregnancy.

Bear with her. She does not mean it to be rude or mean to you, but simply because her hormones are acting up. There is no way she can fight it, and the only way to make her feel better again, is to have her spayed. So be nice to her, because she not being herself, and be happy that she is getting spayed very soon.

It could be signs of false pregnancy. It could also be her pulling it due to some sort of stress. Are there other animals at your parents place? Or she could have just pulled out a loose clump that was ready to shed.

Also, keep in mind rabbits don’t see directly bleow the nose so she might have reacted in a defensive way toward your foot. But I’m betting it’s more due hormones.

Sounds like puberty to me!  Pulling fur, grumpy and teritorial – those are often characteristic of a girlbun in puberty or a false pregnancy.  Hang in there as best you can until her spay.

Yep, time to schedule the spay. She does love you, as evidenced by her kissing your toe, but the hormones from hell took over and that was that. She will be sweet and much more comfortable as soon as it’s over with.
