i have what i thought to be the sweetest bunny in the world. from day one all she ever wanted was to be right next to me, which means i pretty much spend every min at home usually with her. she has lots of freedom, a whole bedroom with living room night daily in fact. she has always slept right next to me and she never bites. she does chew on things but thats natural. but in the last three days she has completely changed. she seems to no longer be litter trained and through she still follows me around it is to bite my ankles. she has started to run around in circles on my bed at night biting every limb in her way. the worst is she chews on my scalp. so pretty she never lets me sleep. i not really sure what is wrong with her.

This is age related behavior – spaying will help with some of this and of course once she gets older these behaviors will be less.

Hang in there :~) it’s just puberty.

Before I even saw Sarita’s post all I could think of was a hormonal teenager who yells back at mom from upstairs about how “I hate you!” or some other stupid behaviour. Ahh… so much for me to look forward to haha.

great it should be a fun stage. at least she still wants to spend time with me. but i have to get dress standing on my bed because she attacks my ankles and she is being so messy. hopefully getting her spayed will help a lot.

My first rabbit as an adult was a female dwarf hotot that the rescue hadn’t spayed yet. I had to wait about two weeks(I think?). Boy, until I got her fixed she was vicious. I rescued a baby holland lop(he was so cute), but had to take him back because she attacked and tore my arm open instead of him. Once she was fixed she was the sweetest bunny.

Yep, it’s probably because her hormones are starting to kick in, so she’s getting a little nippy and territorial. Yeah, I think this is a good time to get her spayed. Spaying is great. Not only does it take her out of her ‘moody’ stage, but in some cases, rabbits live happier and longer if they’re spayed/neutered.
