I have two questions that I was wondering about just for fun.  Rabbits are such unique characters.  I was thinking about how Holly reacts to a couple of situations, and I wanted to see what other bunnies do.  They are such fun crazy critters!

Question 1: When your bunny gets mad at you, how do you make up with him/her?

Question 2: How does your bunny get your attention when it needs some TLC?

Here are my answers for each.

        My answer to question 1.

Holly doesn’t get mad at me often. Usually it is when I cut her toe nails or do something stupid. Last night, I had the crazy idea to put her in one of Zach’s shirts. She jumped right out of it, and she wouldn’t come see me for a long time.  I went got a small piece of banana and she forgave me the rest of the night.

        Answer for question 2

Holly does several things depending where I am. If I’m sitting on the couch or chair, she’ll jump up on my lap.  (I better not pick her up though!  She has to do it.  She also will run around the room at a very fast speed.  If I am on the floor, she will jump up on my tummy and bite at my shirt.  She sometimes digs. Ouch this hurts! If I’m on my tummy she’ll jump on my back.  She never digs my back. Sometimes, if my back is to her and I’m on the floor, she’ll come up and put her front paws on my back. I know sometimes it is to see if I’m awake. If I don’t move then she goes somewhere she’s not supposed to. This is true!  Sometimes this is to request head pets. I’ll move and she’s resting near me. Crazy girl!

          Question 1:
Well right now I think my husband believes if you build his condo bigger, he’ll be more happy   But I usually give him a treat and pet him and continually say “I’m so sorry” and then think to myself *I need to get out of the house, I’m talking to a bunny hehe!*  He usually still “pretends” he’s mad and then after 5 minutes comes back for a head rub like he’s saying “ok I guess I’ll forgive you…if you give me a head rub first!”

          Question 2:

Archie usually nudges your knee if you’re sitting on the ground indian style.  He’ll dig at your pants or nudge your hands for a head rub.  I don’t know if it’s just the way he lays but sometimes he’ll lay with his head right to the ground and you can’t help it but sit next to him and pet him because he looks  a little sad.  He loves attention and will sit with you for a 1/2 hour or so and if you stop he’ll start digging at your pants again!

            Question 1:

When they are mad at me – like for using the vacuum – they thump, thump & then thump some more, till I give them a treat, like a piece of banana. Then I am suddenly forgiven!

            Question 2:

If they really want attention they run over and periscope up and put their front paws on my leg – “What are you doing up there? Come down and play!” Sometimes they even tug on my jeans with their teeth. So cute!!!!

              1. Any time Mr. Bunny is mad at me, some head rubs and a treat (banana, carrot, raisins, radish leaves etc. ) should do the trick!
              2. If I’m sitting in a chair, he’ll hop up to me and start nudging my legs and trying to stretch to put his paws on my legs. If I’m sitting on the floor, he’ll start circling around me and nudging me and licking my hands

Question 1: When Bunny is mad at me he digs really fast on a blaket or pillow and bites it too. So I just push him down gently into a laying possition and I pet his head, give him kisses, and talk nice to him. If when I stop he resumes the digging I know he is still mad! Then I just snuggle with him longer and if that doesn’t work I give him space and a few minutes to himself. Then I call out to him that I am getting a treat, or some greens, and he gets excited and has to wait while i get the treat out and then I walk somewhere so that he has to fallow me and then I give him the treat. While he is eating I pet his head and he is happy I think having him wait, and then come to me for the treat gets him more excited and takes his mind away from whatever he was feeling. It doesn’t work if I just go hand him a treat.

Question 2: Whenever bunny comes up to me I poke my finger out to his face and he reacts mostly by either running off, rubbing his chin on it, checking to see if it’s a treat, or putting his forehead under it to get the head pets. I think this is an effective way to ask him whats up when he comes to see me.
Bunny is a fan of the nudge and run. He often comes up and nudges feet or legs repeatedly but as soon as you reach to pet him he runs away! Then does it again a bit later. I don’t get it. You can tell he wants attention though. Other times like when I am on the floor with him, he will lay down in front of me and when I reach for him he will put his head down in the pet me now bunny bow.

Question 1: When your bunny gets mad at you, how do you make up with him/her?

Chuck gets mad when he gets his eye drops and face wash. I give him treats but he generally snubs them and ‘accosts’ his lion to get over it.
Rupert gets mad after a bum bath and/or if I take too many pictures of him. Treats always work with him.
Kahlua gets mad at Dave when he won’t play chase, and she pees near his shoes. There is pretty much no making it up to her, so we just give her the slinky to attack

Question 2: How does your bunny get your attention when it needs some TLC?

Rupert gets our attention by stopping in an unusual spot and staring at us. Kahlua doesn’t really ask for attention but she does jump on anyone sleeping on the couch. Chuck doesn’t ask for attention but he loves to cuddle

question 1… one word… raisins.  lol

well that works for pinky.  never worked for baby tho.  she’d gladly accept the treat mind you… just not stop being ticked until she had thrown some thing around like a toilet paper tube or her water dish.

question 2… pinky will nose bump any part of me that happens to be infront of her for attention.  she will also nudge her whole head under my hand just like a dog for pets.  and if i’m giving head rubs and stop when she wants more she’ll dig at me… possibly a little love nip too if i am to slow to respond.

Thanks all for answering my poll. I have really enjoyed reading your posts. I love house rabbits. Once again it makes me sad that I used to raise rabbits outdoors. I might be getting the rabbit bug for another one, but I know that is unrealistic. This household doesn’t need another new thing. We are already overwhelmed. Besides hubby has said no.
