        Hello,

SO I cant really post the whole story. But to make a long story short I ended up with a 5 week old bunny and I am concerned everything seems to be going fine eattin alfala and pellets and drinking fine but is they anything special. Mom is not an option as mom is gone. The only reason I took this baby as people were buying them as feeders I am not fond of the baby stage as I like older ones but this little bunny derserved to live. I have talked to the vet and at around 6 months we will be having this bunny fixed we have been puttin money away for both bunnies now to be fixed. Probley get the younger one done first.

But I need tips what should i do to make them mroe comfy etc

Well there is a product called benebac that is a probiotic and one of the indications is to give to rabbits with upsets or who were seperated from mom before eight weeks.

Other then that I’d suggest a vet exam and just watching him like a hawk to ensure he’s eating/pooping/peeing. Since he’s eating solid food now, I would wager he can make it. *HUGS* Thanks for saving him!

awsome for helping the little bun!

you picked a great place for asking questions! =]

to make the bun more comfy, blankets/towels in a little cat litter pan make a nice bed to cuddle up in.

I would be concerned with mucoid enteritis as this is common in babies weaned to early and probiotics should help.  Is the baby shivering at all? You may want to consider a hot water bottle or a warming pad filled with flax seed, rice etc. that you warm in the microwave.

I would recommend too that you get the baby tested for coccidia – it’s just through a fecal float at the vet. It sounds like he came from a less than desirable situation so this would be a good test to have done in a rabbit this young.

Poor baby – glad you rescued him.

I tell ya “Harley” so far the name of choice because he looks like a harliquin is a turkey lol. We made Oreo a new cage so Harley got Oreos old cage. He loves all the toys and flops and jumps and lays down then pops up and loves to cuddle. He just looks so tiny in the cage I say it is about 10 or 15 of him length wise. I went out and got a small litter pan and he loves his new bed and peed in it lol litter trainin is going to be an experience I woke up to the whole cage just full of tiny little poops lol.

He or she is just the sweetest thing and I must say a little piggy lol loves the pellets and Alfalfa.

He is doing wonderful or she haha
