Hi, I have a tricky one. We just got a new bunny who’s a bit over 3 months. For some reason, he’s not eating any junior pellets (we tried 3 different brands) but he’s happily eating adult pellets. Never had this issue with my previous rabbits so i’m a bit confused, and mostly wondering how to balance his diet in terms of protein and calcium without alfalfa (unable to find alfalfa hay to buy for him, bunnies are not a big thing in the country where i live). Unless someone has a recommendation to have him eat the junior pellets. He’s otherwise perfectly fine, eating lot of timothy & meadow hay and drinking as he should. Thanks

I think he’ll do excellently on adult pellets and grass hay. He may just need a slightly bigger portion size than what’s recommended for an adult bun of the same size . He should ideally get his pellets’ bowl refilled soon after he has finished it. That way he can eat as much as he needs for healthy growth.

I agree with Bam. Although not ideal, he should be fine eating timothy-based pellets and grass hay. He should be allowed to eat as much as he wants though (within reason, of course).
