Ditto on Azarene and LBJ10. Honestly if I ever got to that point with my EC bunny, I would continue using the wood pellets (great for odor control), and put vet fleece bedding on top of the pellets – in the litter box. I have fleece in my bunny room, and the rabbits pee and poop on it as if it were a litter box. The pee drains through and settles into the puppy pee pad. I change out the pee pads and sweep up the poop daily, and wash the fleece every second day. I only have 1 grate out of 4 litter boxes, because they typically don’t have large enough holes for the poop to fall through, and since I put hay on top of the grate or comfort, they do get messy. It is more for me to clean. The only grate I still use is in the “jumbo” (really small in my opinion) corner rabbit litter box – because it sits a distance off the poop/bedding, and the grate is large enough for the poops to fall through, so it stays relatively clean. This pair of rabbits have 4 litter boxes, and one of them also pees all over the room on the pee pads, so changing the fleece every second day works out just fine. If I only had 1 litter box – I’d change the fleece every day. Just other ideas.
