Yes I have heard of that song! 
And I agree, Sam Smith is amazing. I’m really sad that his label decided to pull the song “In the lonely hour” (that’s also the name of the album) I loved that song but you can’t find the original anywhere. You get the idea of what it sounds like on youtube, but all of those lyrics vids have been altered (like slowing down the song) to avoid copy write.
And I think I understand what you mean about rap and then singing. Kinda like Taylor Swift’s new “Bad Blood” feat. Kendrick Lamar? (That video is really cool, you should watch it!)
