After “hunting hiiiiigh and loooow” (oo oo ooo oo ooo) I’ve just bought these 2 storage drawer things (well, officially I only bought one because they were stacked, the till lady only scanned it once…. duuurr – I LOVE a bargain! )

It’s tricky because there are not many plastic boxes without a cross strenghtener (as illustrated by the little cross marks left in Azerane’s pellet mash) – and those that do have very slopey sides (or are very big).

So although these stack into each other leaving a perfect 2.5 cm gap inside between the bottoms to put the pellets, the bottoms are ‘flimsy’ and so the top box’s bottom is not taught, bends slightly and touches the bottom box’s base.  (are you following?)

So i’m going to have to find something (washable) to put in the bottom box to prevent the top box from sagging down 2cm when 6kg of fluff is sitting on it…. (any ideas ? )

Other than that, a good size. These are 35 x 52 cm and 20cm deep which is good.

I now am going to spend the evening drawing dots with a Sharpie (“other brands available”) on the bottom of one of the boxes and drilling holes as per the catsite link above which seems a perfect solution to getting a sifter tray thingy going for my buns as the litter situation is (still) driving me bananas. They wee so much and it soaks up and soaks through so fast that I always come home to a damp solid matting of pellets and paper and poops which they have obviously been sitting on

…. to be continued…     da da DUM !!
