    You’re doing great!

I think I remember a study that says rabbits can safely be on meloxocam for 28 days. This doesn’t mean that meloxicam is unsafe for even longer use, it just means there are no studies on longer treatment courses. Many of us here have given high doses of meloxicam for longer, it’s not uncommon in chronically ill or very old rabbits. My tiny little 3 pound bun Vilde was on max dose (1.8 mg) twice per day for 1.5 years. As per my vet’s orders, I also gave him ranitidine daily, to protect his stomach lining. (Ranitidine has since been withdrawn, so famotidine is used instead.)

This said, it’s important to not over-medicate, and if you think she doesn’t need the meloxicam, it’s wise to taper or stop it. You are monitoring her closely, should she lose her appetite or seem uncomfortable, you can restart meloxicam at any time.
