I think you can experiment — ultimately you likely need to bore holes in the hood in order to get a sturdy structure through for hanging a hay rack, since those tend to be pulled/dug at by the rabbit, so you want it to be pretty fastened in place. That being said, it may be a hassle to access and refill it.

Please do not do this without proper…[Read more]

Is there a way to install a hay rack in a covered litterbox? I have a hooded box and I can’t put a hay rack by it. My hay rack is also attached to toys, bowls, and a veggie tray (it’s just a little deal I built for her, I call it the rabbit multitool), so it’d be difficult, to say the least, to put it behind a litterbox

    And I know there’s some…[Read more]

I like the idea of a second opinion. I plan to take my 2 to a different vet soon (just to get established as patients before they need anything) because I believe she is more knowledgeable about rabbits.

    Hey!

Just looking for some opinions now.

I finally found an exotics vet that’s a 20 minute drive from from me because the other vet was taking a little while to get back to me about the pain relief. The appointment with the exotics vet is later today and its a double appointment as they said they wanted to really get to know the situation.

    Yay, that’s great! ^_^

I’ve started to use it more as well. Molly had an obsession with the skirting board on the wall between the living room and the bedroom. When you lay in bed it sounds like someone is trying to saw a way through the wall.

My boyfriend wakes up earlier than I do, but he’s so focused on his computer that he doesn’t notice…[Read more]

We stayed at mum’s for 2 weeks over the holidays, and the garlic kept working without need for re-application!

I agree with Azerane. My bun sometimes access the hay in her litterbox from outside the litterbox, and sure enough, she leaves a nice little pile of poopies exactly where she’s been sitting and munching on her hay. They like to poop while they munch on their hay =D

If you have the box in a corner you could put the hay in the furthest corner so…[Read more]

She has maybe 3 little hidey holes, and she had a dig bog till she destroyed it and covered my entire office in bedding lol One of her hidey holes is one of those pop up pens you can get at like petco or five below in my case lol. It has old sheets and blankets for her to burrow in.

Ugh, my bun was a AWFUL digger. She bit our couch a few times and ruined it (my husband was not happy). I tired everything like you but it didn’t really get better until after she was spay.
Have you tried a dig box or a hidey? I have a hidey in my buns x pen and they go to town on it lol they dug a whole through the back. I tried a dig box but s…[Read more]

I was also wondering if the majority of buns who groom their owners are single buns. My very first bunny I had use to groom me ALL the time. She was my first pet and we had a very close bond. My other buns didn’t groom me, ever. One use to nudge my hand with his head so I would pet him. He would flop by me on the floor but never groomed me.

The easiest solution here is to place the hay rack so that your rabbit has to sit in the litter box to access it.

An Update. Banni (yeah, that is his name) – had quite a bit if pellets yesterday in the night. Today, he has had very little. But he has been quite active since morning. Almost his usual self. Still sitting hunched when we put him in his cage. So its a mixed bag – but it is in the +ve direction. Lets keep fingers crossed.

Thanks for the advice on…[Read more]

Hey y’all! Long time no talk, how is everybody?

So my dad was making me keep my rabbit in his garage for a long time, and I finally moved her and my chinchilla into my room yesterday, so they’ll be happier, healthier, and warmer! BUT a problem came up

Whenever she’s at her hay rack, she craps all over the place instead of in her litterbox

    I’m…[Read more]

Funny enough he has one of my old stuffed animals that he grooms regularly and sleeps with all the time! Maybe it’s the texture or that it smells like me who knows!

Thanks a bunch! I checked him and he feels fine so that puts my mind at ease. If i have any more concerns about his weight I will likely take him to the vet but for now all is well

Okay thank you! When I got him my original goal was pellet free from the get go but could I give him about a tablespoon a day in addition to his veggies (i give 2 cups of those since he is abt 4lbs)
