Has she been eating since you brought her home?  Its so critical to keep there digestive tract moving to avoid stasis.  Perhaps try giving her some of her favourite greens washed with a bit of water left on them to increase hydration and ensure she has a lot of hay.  You can also sprinkle hay with dried herbs to encourage her to eat more. My fe…[Read more]

Thank you so much! She deffinetly loves the cat scratching boards, I tend to give her the ones my cat has finished using just to keep Domino out of Dahlias area. Not cause he does anything to her, its more for his safety cause Dahlia is a little bully sometimes lol

If the poops are consistent in their large shape and both are well formed, chocked full of hay bits (i.e., crumble upon squishing), and abundant, I wouldn’t be too concerned. Darker poops in the context of same diet could be due to how much one particular rabbit drinks or some about their GI composition, though this is coming from a non-vet. I…[Read more]

It’s very unlikely that he will have a reaction to the vaccine, its extremely rare. I have never had issues with the vaccine. If he had stasis I would get the vets opinion before vaccinating him but if he’s still eating and popping it should be okay.

Is there any reason to be extra anxious? I.e did he eat something he should not have or anything…[Read more]

Thank you for your reply!!  Yes they have now been together for 72 hours.  This is so exciting to see.  They are basically glued to eachother are never more than a foot apart at all times.  I think I may have created partners in crime however lol.

We got the blood test results, and vet said she’ll be in touch. I have the numbers, but I don’t have the reference, so it’s hard to tell if there’s an issue.

While we were at the vet’s, she did an X-ray at him, and found the sludge in his urine and in the bladder, and she told me she pressed some of it out. When Muffin got home, he was non-stop…[Read more]

I’m at work but I have a Ring camera in my room and he just ran to the litter box, ate some hay and had a bunch of water and then ran back to his hidey house, so I think he’s okay? Just so anxious about this.

Thank you so much, that makes me feel so much better. I woke up this morning and he was totally normal- running around, eating hay, asking for pets, etc. He pooped a bunch this morning, but they were still very small, dry, and light. He also drank a ton of water and ate lots of hay and he peed. He had his yearly exam and first RHDV vaccine a few…[Read more]

I’ve actually heard it’s best to feed freshly rinsed veggies so they get even more water from them.

But yes agree with others, you don’t want to overdo the veg to the point that hay consumption is reduced or the bun gets a tummy ache.

I wonder if simply getting a lower sided litter box will help a lot of your problems. That would make it easy to mount the hay rack over it, and make it easier for the bun to jump in.

Agree that spaying will help, but some buns just love to dig in carpet so that prob wont go away completely. For the carpet, pick up some heavy ceramic tiles from the hardware store (the big 12-14″ ones). You can place them over the trouble spots and that should help a lot, since buns will get obsessed over a particular area.

    My carpet-digger…[Read more]
