Parsley will now eat only the Aldi brand cilantro but not the Food Lion brand…… πŸ™„

I think you are taking great steps, and I love the set up, but I would do pre-bonding side swaps for longer before doing sessions. More challenging pairings benefit from longer pre-bonding, so I would wait until you don’t see any aggression through the bars if possible (at least another week or 2). Also make extra sure they can’t actually nip each…[Read more]

If you want to provide extra flavor options and she won’t eat fresh, you could try some dried herbs. I have one who can’t eat fresh anything due to digestive trouble and he eats dried sage, mint, dandelion, chamomile, etc. No guarantee she would like it though if she’s picky!

I agree with Wick that it probably doesn’t really matter. πŸ™‚

Thank you. As he’s young and already started to have problems I’m going to just stick to the few veggies he normally eats.

<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>It’s possible something made him gassy and you actually prevented stasis by getting him meds early. I keep some baby symethicone on hand to give when I suspect someone is gassy or not feeling well and give it half an hour before I start calling for a vet. I had one case of gassy bunny that the gas drops helped, and…[Read more]

Hi my friends, I’ve been posting here a lot because this new bunny I’ve adopted since the pass of my senior bun has been giving me a lot of puzzles.

Yesterday we had our first stasis. He is only 10 months old and I’m very stressed out. I thought i would be enjoying a few worry free years as I’m having a young bunny again.

He was still eating hay…[Read more]

In truth, as long as she is eating an appropriately limited amount of good quality rabbit pellets and she is hydrating well with water, she doesn’t actually need veggies — pellets do the vast majority of the work in filling in the nutritional gaps a mainly-hay diet leaves.

To ensure you are feeding good quality pellets, see here:…[Read more]

Glad the sheet works! And yes, rabbit-appropriate floor is imperative for a rabbit to actually be able to exercise comfortably. Rabbits do not have pads on their feet like dogs and cats, so they are just wearing fuzzy socks 24/7. Inappropriate flooring can not only lead to joint issues down the line, but generally hampers a rabbit’s ability to…[Read more]

There are some suggestions/pictures/descriptions here of rabbit-safe ‘bathing’ methods: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Bathing_rabbits

In tandem with those techniques, I recommend trying to find flooring that will pull moisture away as quickly as possible and not stay stagnant as a puddle on the ground. Personally, I’ve found Sheepette to be amazing at this.

hello! my lovely bunny, honey, has recently been quite hesitant to eat some of her favorite leafy greens such as romaine, cilantro, parsley, and basil. just before this began i offered her green leaf as i have in the past and she happily ate all of it. however, since then, she’s stopped eating other things. she eats lots of fresh hay and always…[Read more]

It is safest to assume it really doesn’t come into play — puberty can really change some rabbits, while others just go with the flow and seem “the same”. The most informed guesses about bonding compatibility only comes after rabbits are at least 1mo post-spay/-neuter, which is when they are no longer hormonal.

Yes, a baby bond is not a true…[Read more]

Okay great, thanks for clarifying that! I will stick to an 30 mins to an hour for now until the weather warms up a bit more πŸ™‚

I believe Bella used to be an outdoor bunny before we rescued her anyway so might be more acclimated to the temps.

Hello all! I’ve told my story a couple times now but I’ll briefly reiterate it here before I ask my main question. In December, we rescued a lost/escaped rabbit who, it turned out, was pregnant with a litter of eight kits! The babies are all, wonderfully, happy and healthy, and now at nine weeks have been weaned from mom (save for the two who will…[Read more]

I hope I am replying correctly, this forum interface is really clunky on my phone.

Thanks so much for the sheets idea. I went ahead and lined the inside of his cage with sheets at night and he’s been sleeping like a champ and not shaking the enclosure. I’ve also started letting him out for supervised bink times where I cover our rugs and cou…[Read more]
