Great, thank you so much! That’s exactly what I was thinking regarding the timeline for a blockage to present. He’s running around and eating like crazy, so hopefully whatever it was has passed and he will be ok!

Yes, 12+ hours is great! A blockage would present sooner. If a bun is eating a ton of hay, I’d not worry too much. It’s similar to giving a dog asparagus when it’s eaten sth it shouldn’t have. The long fibers will wrap around the non-food item and bring it through safely. (Dogs do swallow stuff like socks whole, rabbits dont, thank goodness!) If…[Read more]

A girl rabbit can need more than 10 days to return to her normal self. After 14 days, the internal surgical wound should have healed up, meaning its safe to handle her. The hormonal turmoil brought about by the spay can (and as a rule will) need more time though. Your bun’s brain and body is still adjusting to the cessation in production of female…[Read more]

Thank you. I did “dissect” it and it definitely looked and felt like a plastic string, but I could be wrong. He’s eating tons of hay today and had lots of normal poop overnight, so I assume he’s probably going to be fine?

    Hello everyone!

Yesterday morning I first noticed Silver’s withdrawal. She stayed in a corner instead of wanting to come out and eat their morning salad. This concerned me, and I thought at first it was a gas problem – though she hasn’t had any in the past. Nevertheless, I gave her some tummy rubs to see if that would help.

    She did come out…[Read more]

I would continue to monitor. Rabbits tend to chew whatever they ingest meticulously. The’re not capable of swallowing chunks of things. The best thing for getting stuff through the GI tract is hay. You could give some simethicone baby gas drops – it is traditionally used for gas, but since it stays in the GI canal until it gets pooped out, it also…[Read more]

Hi everyone. Last night I got home from work and found a few poops strung together in my rabbit’s litter box. This is normally not a cause for concern, since he is a lionhead and frequently has some hair in his poop, but this was definitely not hair. It was a very thin, clear string and it felt like a plastic material. I have absolutely no idea w…[Read more]

    Hi everyone!

I purchased my sweet Dolly off of Kijiji about 2 months ago, she is a year old and was not yet spayed. After doing some research, I decided to get her spayed. Before the procedure, she was very affectionate, cuddly, comfortable being picked up, ran to me all the time for snuggles. She went in for surgery, it went fine, however…[Read more]

I’m so sorry to read of your loss — how wonderful that Freedom lived a life accompanied by such a loving, caring owner. It is never a pleasant decision to make; however, Freedom is binkying free on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

    Binky free Freedom.

    Hello everyone,

Sorry if this is a long thread in advance.

This is Freedom, she is a 6/7 year old nz white(was never given her birthdate). I’ve had her since I was child, as she was given to me as a gift. This sadly means that for the first few of her life, I wasn’t giving her the best care possible; as she was kept outdoors, had a bad diet…[Read more]

This is called Hypospadias. A genetic condition in which the penis fails to form properly making him unsuitable for breeding as it can be passed on but he likely isn’t capable of breeding due to the short length in comparison to a fully formed penis. He may also be sterile and have 1 or both testicles fail to drop properly. He can live a very…[Read more]

Okay, I might try expanding today. Is there a certain size that may be too big? I have an X-pen that is 8 grids long 24in each or should I try to mimic the space they would be sharing as close as possible? I do have additional c&c grids I can also use to expand.

should I add items or leave it pretty basic. Like previously mentioned, I did add…[Read more]

    Hey!

    Just a light-hearted question.

Whats everyone’s thoughts on multivitamins for older rabbits?

Glenn and Bella are turning 5 this year and im considering trying out a daily supplement for their diet but not sure if its just a gimick or if they are worth it.
