I’m glad you got her in! I know she’d been having some ongoing issues so I’m sure she will feel much better soon!

I agree that I don’t anything sounds like a sanitary concern, but I have found a rubber hand broom to be really helpful for getting excess fur and hay off of blankets, especially fluffy ones. I also have a lint remover like Wick linked, it works great for fur. You could also wash the blankets in a rotation (like maybe 1 each week) rather than…[Read more]

I recommend getting a reusable lint roller to more easily lift fur from surfaces on a routine basis: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rabbits/comments/pd9y9i/cleaning_reusable_lint_remover_to_reduce_fur/

Sorry for yet another post. Quick behavior question. I have been having them eat their greens together. This was going great, but last couple of times around Dinner it’s turned into drama. Miu won’t start eating until Dorian does and Dorian wants his food in his room and is sort of a butt about not getting his way. Yesterday I ate dinner on t…[Read more]

Petunia looks like a cuty! I need to start my gardening, granted it’s all deck gardening, but hopefully can keep the buns in greens.
Bladesmith congrats on the library gig and hope that the nerve thing works out!
I am deep in moody buns and wondering if I will ever make it through bunny bonding. But also buying new stuff for when they shar…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice to help me improve how I clean and disinfect my rabbit’s area to keep him happy and healthy. He is completely free roam 24/7 in my bedroom that has been bunny-proofed. The bedroom has hardwood floors, so I have about 8 large fleece blankets laying around the room for him. He has a cage in the corner of the…[Read more]

You can identify an upper threshold with the following chart, which is the guidance for rabbits who need to sustain solely on CC daily:

OMG! I love groundhogs! We used to see them all the time, but it seems the foxes and coyotes have scared them all away.
Dana – It looks like the previous owners left you a lot of stuff in the backyard. I bet you have big plans for the area though! Hopefully Petunia will stick around.
Congrats on the job Bladesmith! That’s exciting!

She’s back home from her visit, they ended up filing down a lot of her teeth. The vet said it was a really bad case and she had a lot of painful areas from teeth poking at her cheeks 😔 Makes me so sad because I wouldn’t have known if it hadn’t gotten to this point. The vet said to aggressively give critical care for the week until her mouth heals,…[Read more]

Thank you Dana, I couldn’t do this with out your support!!!
I made a neutral area in the area where the kitchen meets the entry way (I have a weird layout). The goal was to gently herd & bribe the buns there. Buns being buns were like nah, we aren’t going to do that. So they ended up in the semi-neutral area instead. I just went with it since…[Read more]

Sprung heck, it’s fallen on us as if dropped from a great height. We went from freezing temps to almost 80 degrees literally overnight. And now this Saturday, we’re going to drop down to the low 30s, with snow showers. Wonky!
As for moi, it’s been busy busy lately. Loki continues to be a large spoiled lump, and I love him dearly. The big g…[Read more]

Thanks Bam, I think imaging is the next step. I only got to speak to the vet once on the phone while Apollo was there, and only saw a nurse when I picked him up. She wanted us to just monitor him for now, but did mention doing imaging next, I think after the blood results come back which will be on Thursday. Normally we’d have them back tomorrow…[Read more]

We were very excited to see her! She was super cute, she even did some stretches! It must be crazy waking up from a months-long hibernation. I had seen marmots before in CA, but never a groundhog up close (they are super closely related). It was funny, because literally last night I had said, “well if that is a groundhog burrow we’ll definitely…[Read more]

The handling for bonding is always annoying. I usually just resign that the buns are going to hate me during bonding (which they usually do), but they’ve always forgiven me! That’s also part of the reason I like to have the settling in period, so the new bun builds a little trust before the process.
I thought I had read that they did better in…[Read more]

Thanks Dana, I knew it might be hard from reading threads on here, I just wasn’t prepared for the emotional up and downs! Especially since Dorian seems to not get bunny talk (or he maybe he does and is just being a butt) and Miu gets so very worked up (she definitely stress chews, and holds a grudge like no other). Oddly she reminds me of when we…[Read more]

Wow — I have never actually seen a groundhog in real life…. I am envious of the sight! I think Petunia is a wonderfully fitting name.
I hope you have good garden gloves to protect yourself in all that clearing work… I can’t imagine how many cuts and splinters I’d get with how clumsy I am, haha.

I agree with the others. What you are describing suggests it is a URI that isn’t very responsive to whatever antibiotic you were using. So the antibiotic works a little bit, but it doesn’t clear the infection completely. Before deciding it’s “just allergies”, the possibility of a URI should be thoroughly exhausted. I would suggest asking your vet…[Read more]

Well I think spring has sprung!
We just had a groundhog emerge from hibernation in our yard! Going to make gardening an extra challenge but we’ll probably plan a decoy garden for it. We decided her name is Petunia. 🙂
We’ve been busy clearing all of these invasive vines that are threatening to take over the property and strangle our trees, so…[Read more]
