The green pellets you were given are probably alfalfa pellets. When I got my bunny at 8 weeks last year, I gave him Timothy hay with some alfalfa hay mixed in and alfalfa pellets. Giving the mixture helped so that he didn’t resist it when he got older and was transitioned to primarily eating Timothy hay (to prevent too much calcium/bladder s…[Read more]

Hi guys,
Four days ago I brought home a female 2 month old holland lop home to accompany my 1+ year male old Netherland dwarf after he lost his friend due to illness. I need to state that Junior the little boy does not have a mean bone in his body and in fact though I’ve had him for about a year, he still doesn’t let me hold him. He gets clo…[Read more]

Hi everyone!
i recently got a 2 month old Holland Lop, female, specifically I brought her home 4 days ago. The lady I bought her from suggested I give her Timothy or orchard grass hay and the green pellets she sent some with me.
I was wondering, should I give her alfalfa hay? Although she mentioned that Timothy/ orchard would be better? How many…[Read more] -

Hi guys,
Its been 3 months and I just wanted to let you know that Sweetie ended up passing away at the emergency hospital overnight on December.. Her temperature had dropped so low that the vet said that there was a very low chance that she would make it through the night. She also took some xrays and said she had never seen a case like…[Read more]

I’ve been told once that hopping over the other rabbit is a dominance behavior as well! Unsure the legitimacy of it as I don’t see if very often at all to assess context clues.

Hi All,
I think our mini rex has a mild case of hock foot. Is this anything to be concerned about? Her area is well padded (rug pads under pet rugs). Not sure what else we can do to prevent her from getting this, if it is hock foot. Thanks in advance for the help!

We did 1/2 hour. It was a little nerve-wracking, but I think we had some progress of sorts. The firts 15 – 20 minutes where pretty mellow. They hopped about and shared some hay. Then Miu started asking for grooming. There was stomping from Dorian but it was more a sharp “Hey!” Than scared panic stomping. He also nipped her a couple times on the…[Read more]

Thank you so much, Bam and DanaNM! I really appreciate your thoughts. I’ll try to keep tempting him, and may at least give him fluids soon if he keeps acting kinda weird. Thanks again! 🙂

Azerane replied to the topic vinyl flooring? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 5 months ago
It is very slippery. I used vinyl flooring for my cube cage so they would be waterproof but then also had to cover it with fleece that I secured down so that it wouldn’t be slippery. The fleece can’t be loose on the vinyl or that slips around too.

hello! do any of you have vinyl linoleum flooring in your rabbit’s room? if so, is it easy for them to walk/run on or do they slip on it? my rabbit has completely destroyed the carpet in my room so i was thinking about getting some linoleum flooring instead but i dont want her to slip and get hurt on it or not be able to run well.

I will try. I am just worried about Dorian’s somewhat dramatic reactions (not eating), and Miu can hold a grudge as well so erring on side of caution They both been bouncy happy little destructobuns today and engaging a lot with each other through the fence, so we will see how it goes!
