Just realized I have no idea how many dates they have had, but anyway here is
Today’s bun date summary:
We made it an hour! I am not sure how great that was. It started with the usual sniff about and generally ignoring each other.
I put some hay down and the both ate that for a while. At on point Miu asked for grooming, but Dorian didn’t n…[Read more]

- From my experience (with Fable), doesn’t really matter in litterbox or not — they sort of just happen. Fable only poos in her litterbox therefore all those funky poops land there too!
- Are they filled/linked with fur perchance?
Reading that she has good hay appetite makes me less concerned about it. While the golden standard is those dry,…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic 2 month old holland lop diet in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 5 months ago
For a 2mo rabbit, it is recommended to be on unlimited alfalfa-based hay and pellets to match the rapid growth she’ll be doing until ~6mo! : https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Diet#Age
“Unlimited” is a big amount and refill when needed essentially. Ideally, you want to be observing regular hay consumption in addition to the pellet consumption.

Sorry — we are having site-wide image upload issues. If you can post the images on imgr, google drive, or another picture posting site, you can always post the share links here so people can see your lovely Bella.
Thank you for telling her story, and I’m sure this will be very helpful for future rabbit owners. Binky free Bella~~ you were so well-loved.

Hi, thanks for responding! Yes I’ve been giving her Timothy& orchard grass mixed in but I will get a small bar of alfalfa hay as well and continue to give her the alfalfa pellets. Should I continue this diet until she’s 6 months old?
thanks 🙂 -

Ohhh, I see, thank you so very much for your quick response!! In that case, until she gets spayed, I will continue to do what I’m doing. Sometimes I put her on the bed for like 10 min and let him come and sniff around her litter box area so he could I guess get familiar with her scent. Thanks again! Great help 🙂

I’ve seen ours react to music as well. Our bridge bunny Breintje even seemed to have favourite songs: slow classic rock like The Eagles and Floyd. He’d stretch out and purr like a little engine during the guitar solos. Hotel California and Comfortably Numb were his favourites.
Our new young bunnies are still too busy bouncing all over the place,…[Read more]

@Dana: That’s so cute! It sounds amazing to have a garden like this and see animals in there too ^_^
@Bladesmith: Congrats on the new job! Really hoping that the treatment is going to help you. Chronic pain is such a drain on your energy levels, I know that all too well…
@Dorian: I really hope that the bonding goes well. Bunnies can be so…[Read more]

JDro replied to the topic Hock foot? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 5 months ago
I think she may have originally had sore hocks in this area when she was much younger. We thought it was related to her hopping around the whole house (mostly hard flooring). We have since confined her to areas with rugs and put rug pads under her blankets in her pen for even more cushion.
So this isn’t anything to be immediately concerned a…[Read more]

It looks like there’s some callusing. You should inspect daily, if you see tendencies to open sores she will need treatment. Make sure her nails aren’t too long. Callused hocks are unfortunately common in rexes. Putting ointment on can make the fur sticky and even less protective, if you do, try to use sth that dries quickly and that you can apply…[Read more]

So heart-broken to be writing this just 5 months after welcoming Bella to our home.
I first just wanted to say that she was the sweetest most wonderful bunny and I will remember every moment we had. She looked so relaxed in the car when we first met to take her home. The rescue told us that she was shy and took a lot of time to come out of her…[Read more]

Territorial? I don’t think they would be in litter box and she is already more than a year old. They were stuck together you know? Kind of round but mushy

Vicky replied to the topic Smelly rabbit poop in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 5 months ago
Yes she does eat hay all day. She is always munching on it.
Oh so if it’s ISC it can happen here and there?

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Smelly rabbit poop in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 5 months ago
Round and smelly, yet still being the same general size as normal poops makes me think territorial poops (especially if there appears to be a sheen to them). My Fable has territorial poops very often, likely in reaction to be housed separately with another rabbit, therefore facilitating the urge to leave those more potent smelling poos, though how…[Read more]

When there is perfect poop as well as some sticky poop, its generally known as isc, intermittent soft cecotropes. It means there’s some sort of microbial imbalance in the cecum. It’s not alarming, if it persists, the first thing to do is to try and tweak the diet, as a rule towards more hay and less pellets.
Is she eating a good amount of hay?

Hi, i woke up and found this pile of poops in my buns litter box.
They are moist, round but mushy, and very smelly. The one on the bottom is like 5 poops sticked together.
I haven’t changed pellets and my bun only eats pellets and hay. I have NO ideas what could be wrong. She is eating and behaving normally.
Could she digest anything? It only…[Read more]

I have been trying to rebond my boys in a smaller space and haven’t free roamed them since their last really bad boxing match.
I noticed my Angora is very food motivated and tends to eat his share of food and treats before my lionhead. Once he finishes his, he goes after my lionhead’s food (usually treats) and then chasing ensues… They are fine…[Read more]
