Hello all!
I have had a free roam spayed female rabbit, Dottie, for about 2 years and a week ago I adopted a neutered male, Pumba.
I’m hoping to write out how it’s been going so far in hopes that one of you with more experience will give me their thoughts and suggestions!
Day 1: I adopted Pumba and set up his xpen next to Dottie. Dottie was…[Read more]

I would absolutely recommend ringing the vet and reporting this — swollen cheek can be a sign of infection and you want that assessed and treated as soon as possible.

I do see his new hair coming in because there’s a line on his side dividing his old hair and new hair could that be a sign of molting?

No i don’t think so his poops have been fine with no hair attached. And i brushed him on Thursday and i barley got anything out. Idk maybe it was the celery, i have given them celery in the past i wonder why this happened maybe bc it’s been a while since i gave him some.

Hello, Rain’s been recovering well the past 4-5 days from her dental surgery. I just noticed though that one of her cheeks is swollen and noticeably jutting out compared to the other. Is this normal because of the surgery or something I need to get checked out immediately? I’m worried it’s a tooth abscess but I don’t know anything about those.

I would personally be considering this an emergency situation. Just because there isn’t wheezing, doesn’t mean it’s not serious. Restricted breathing is always serious.

Whew! Glad he’s eating again!
Is he molting by chance? Sometimes my buns have had weird spells when they are molting.

Have you noticed if he’s pooped?
How long has it been since he ate?
-
Ginger&Seal replied to the topic Standing and sitting down in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 5 months ago
He is running around now but keeps avoiding the hay hopefully he will start to eat soon.

It does sound like he is in some discomfort, and gas is a possible culprit since he ate recently. Can you give him a tummy rub? Gently encouraging movement can help as well.

DanaNM replied to the topic small poop from new hay brand or bad quality hay? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 5 months ago
If she ate less hay for a while because the bag was off, she could have started to have some gut slowing and could still be recovering from that. Rabbit digestion needs lots of fiber to go in for poop to come out. I would keep pushing as much hay as she’ll eat and encouraging her to drink water.
I think giving some wet lettuce could be a good…[Read more]

Hey guys, my bunny ate his afternoon veggies and his digestive treat for the afternoon, now I decided to offer a treat and he didn’t come running. I have administered 2 ml of simethicone these past 2 hours and I’m letting him chill hoping it’ll pass, I checked his stomach feels fine, not bloated. Now I’m noticing he’s standing up and sitting down…[Read more]

He’s about 5lbs. & He’s 21/2. Is that to much pellets ?? He poops a lot. More then any other I’ve ever had.. My last passed away at 13 yrs old.. So, I keep my same routine.. I adopted him & he’s fixed…I had bought a different brand of Kaytee Forti- diet.. PetSmart’s we’re all out everywhere. He wouldn’t eat. So, I found his regular. He at…[Read more]

haha maybe thats also one of the main thing too, i’ll drink coffee in my room and also sometimes, accidentally leaving pellets on the table. So she might think its also place to get hidden treats. But i’ll try your advice on that but i am not too sure if it’ll work as shes one stubborn and curious bunny who has to get everything 🤣

bunneth replied to the topic stopping superhero mario bunny? in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 5 months ago
yeah, ive tried blocking it off but for some reason she still manages to get on my table 😂 and we do have a cardboard box for her as her castle and hidey house but she uses that as a stepping stool to jump up once so i had to place it further away from the table.

Found it:
<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>His hay eating is good. He eats Kaytee Timothy pellets only ( no junk ) 1/4 c. morning & evening.
I did notice he eating some pellets. But, usually empty the bowl.</p>
How big is he? 1/2 cup total per day is a lot of pellets.
