I agree that a bath may not be necessary, but if he is really crusty you could do just a bum bath, so his back paws would rest in a small amount of water.

But it’s also true that he will likely improve leaps and bounds with just having a clean environment and proper care!

My bunny Bonnie is like this, she will occasionally accept some head rubs, but usually only while I am also petting Cooper, her bonded mate. I interpret it as she actually thinks that Cooper is grooming her while I’m petting her, and then if he leaves she realizes it’s me!

Sometimes drinking extra water and poor litter habits can be related to a dental problem. Are you noticing any change in her eating preferences? I had a bun with dental issues that would drink TONS of water and then pee outside his box often.

I agree with the above, plan to do some really deep groomings and daily brushings.

Also anything you can do to increase hydration and hay consumption is good. Sometimes I even skip pellets during molting times, to encourage more hay eating.

Looks like a normal (big) shed to me, sometimes rabbits will have a really extreme molt, especially in the spring time. As long as you don’t see patches of red or irritated skin, then I wouldn’t worry!

A couple of my buns have had sheds like this, where they look like they lost a fight to a lawnmower!

Daily brushing is really important at times like this.
