Sorry, just RE the attention she did get as a solo bun:
Nightly rub sessions of 1-2 hours where she’d lie up beside my partner and he’d rub her while we watch a show (or any time he’s home she would do the same).
I play chasing with her (her favourite game, weirdly) and tug of War or organising, and arrange things like sheets and boxes so she…[Read more]

Thanks for your feedback.
We’re on day 6 now and things are MUCH calmer. If he takes her by surprise for any reason, she will get into an aggressive stance and grunt but otherwise, doesn’t react anymore to his movements and he has his tunnel back now without issue. I’ve been swapping litter trays, a stuffy, and blankets but not entire areas. She…[Read more]

I opt for the cheap option and make something quick on Word, print it out, then “laminate” it with clear packaging tape. This helps with also personalizing it/updating it regularly, as opposed to committing to information that may change.

I can’t seem to give you guys a break, I’m so sorry. I was thinking of getting a pet label or a tag (like a dog tag) of some kind for their pet carriers in case of emergencies but I don’t know which to get. The only kind of label I can think of is individual letter stickers for their names but with a tag I could give name, address and phone number…[Read more]

I don’t have the background that DanaNM does about your situation, so to speak directly to the question of unbondable rabbits, I too have direct experience with rabbit personalities that just don’t seem super compatible with others. My Wick and Fable are two single rabbits, and I primarily blame Wick since he just does not seem at all interested…[Read more]

prince dorian the bun replied to the topic Do bunnies behaviors change with the seasons? in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 5 months ago
I see more changes related to molting than seasons… though molts are seasonal. Weight doesn’t change, but Dorian at least looks chubbier in the winter as he has a thicker coat.

it’s just their room which is pretty small (I am not too worried about the one offs), so not really able to make it smaller. I’ll just give it time and hope! & it’s definitely Miu as I can see the trail from where she was… like a little easter bunny leaving chocolates. Dorian at least seems to have stopped peeing on stuff which honestly is worse…[Read more]

Oh Phil! <3
Some buns just aren’t great candidates for bonding. I have also talked with some friends at the rescue about some buns being somewhat “autistic” (for lack of a better word) in that they don’t communicate the same way as other bunnies. I had a bond break on me with a bun that I think fits that category.
I also know of at least 1 bun…[Read more]

Scattering is a territorial thing. I suspect it will get better in time! You could also restrict their space a bit temporarily to see if that helps.

If she’s really molting badly, you may need to pop her on a table and do a deep grooming. I have to do this with one of my bunnies. She hates being handled, so it’s just easier to get it all done in one go, rather than constantly bothering her with the brush.

Ugh, I’m sorry you haven’t found any answers. 🙁
It is true that sometimes you just end up with a string of bad luck, but I do think assuming RHDV with your cleaning procedures would be a good move.
Here is some guidance on disinfecting and cleaning: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_health/downloads/rhdv-cleaning-guidance.pdf

I agree that it would be good to have him assessed by a vet. They can advise on the dose, and you can make sure you aren’t masking a medical problem with the melatonin.

Kimberly S. replied to the topic urinating outside of litterbox in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 5 months ago
The vet checked her teeth while we were there, and they were fine. She has been eating normally.
She was randomly urinating throughout the cage. We’ve finished the metacam, and she only had 2 incidents of not urinating in the litter box.
We switched over to gabapentin to use long term for her hocks.

*Luckily it’s mainly in their room, but still… so many poops. Also sorry for the redundancy in using the word poops.
Dorian has always been pretty good about getting his in the litter box, with a few exceptions like when he was younger he would have some sleepy time poops and had issues with territorial poops. He still occasionally will have…[Read more]

It is actually uncommon for a rabbit to be willing/OK with an owner grooming them. Usually some restraint, resistance, etc. is normal and is something owners and rabbits need to tolerate as a part of the grooming process. There is great guidance and videos on grooming here: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Grooming
My approach is to choose whatever…[Read more]

Lint rollers work for rex fur, if the rabbit agrees to the treatment. My little rex didn’t approve of the lint roller, so I pick and pick tufts of fur. The brushes I have don’t catch her fur, it’s so short and so super soft.

Please have your rabbit assessed by a rabbit-savvy vet — eye injuries as well as potential additional injuries resulting from this experience should be properly examined by a veterinary professional to ensure your rabbit is OK/gets effective treatment, if applicable.
For the future, please know you do not need to take a rabbit on walks and if…[Read more]
