Sorry, I meant for this to be put in bonding. Could someone move it?

On the filtered water, me too!

Everyone here, except the goats, get filtered water.  We use the Zero water filters, takes out so much stuff!  We were using Brita, turns out that wasn’t doing anything on our well water.

As for the original question, I typically add to the water daily, clean the whole shebang once a week or whenever they put s…[Read more]

Hey! Sorry to hear your going through this.

My last rescue bunny suffered bad arthritis, so bad she couldn’t walk properly.

He could be a little low/sore from the surgery.

Has the vet definitely checked for arthritis to make sure its not a different issue, that would be my first thought as adding more pain meds could mask any other issue that…[Read more]

I’m around month 4 of bonding my 2 boys and they’ve come a long way. In their early bonding days, there was latching, bald patches, a torn eyelid, and blood drawn semi frequently, followed by stressful vet visits, so they could only improve lol. I’ve been looking on reddit and bonding stories and have found that a lot of claims are being made…[Read more]

    Hello!

I would like to seek opinion/advice regarding my rabbit weight.

I have bought my rabbit (Angora Breed) for a consultation on the 6 Feb 2022 and was informed that she is on the skinnier side with a weight of 1.16kg (taken on that day). I have been monitoring her since then, however, was wondering now if it’s of concern as I felt that she…[Read more]

Hello. Just wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions . I have a 12 year old rabbit (coco) who has arthritis. He has been on metacam for about a year and a half 0.2  Recently he has needed more and we are now using the maximum of 0.7 for his weight once or twice a day.

Last weekend he started crunching his teeth. He was given his meds.…[Read more]

Looking at the layout, I think your idea is a good one. Use puppy playpen fence of baby gates to gate off the section behind the couch (though I’d bring the couch forward a little if there’s room to bring in the gate in line with that wall). Then if you like you can have supervised free roam time of the rest of the living area and kitchen.

Thanks so much for the response. I gree with you, I think I should move first and see the situation. In the meantime, I will start volunteering in a local rescue, just to spoil the bunnies 😀

2 buns, 2 bowls. One is large dog sized bowl, other is a cat sized one. I wash them in the evening every day (preventing bacteria from building up that can cause health issues, I don’t use dishwasher often but throw them in there when I do run it for extra sanitation). If I see hay or anything in it in during the day I’ll rinse it out and refill…[Read more]

It appears the best bet is to decide what space you’re willing to devote entirely to your rabbit’s permanent enclosure, and then you can rabbit proof/put gates up against any sections you do not want your rabbit wandering around when you allow for free-roam time. At the minimum though, the space you dedicate for him does need to have a rug and,…[Read more]

Hi guys! I will be moving in a small studio apartment in the next few months and I currently am in a 4 bedroom apartment with a lot of space for my bunny to freeroam. With this new apartment and an open floorplan with no carpet, I am worried about sore hocks and the best and safe way to set the space up for him. I’m contemplated getting baby gates…[Read more]

thank you so much for your insight, that all makes a lot of sense! 😛  It’s funny because I’ve had Harper for going on 3 years now and I don’t remember him acting any different in the spring, I don’t think I even knew about spring fever until I read about it recently. All his other behaviours seem normal (eating/drinking/pooping) he was just bei…[Read more]

At the minimum, the act of picking her up is likely disorienting her a bit so being put down is a relief and probably just puts her in a new mindset. Another possibility is if in any other way she has associated any “negative” experiences with getting something nice afterwards, so even if not trained with being picked up specifically, if there has…[Read more]

I aked about poop because sometimes a hormonsl (yet castrated) bun will mske a “poop-barrier” along the perimeter of his/her territory. Marking poops are often extra big, shiny and reeking of what’s often described as “fried onion” 🤣

Rabbit behavior is to a great extent hormone-dependant, so the rapid change in amount of daylight that occurs…[Read more]

In rare cases, a spay can result in intestinal adherenses, meaning the intestines start to stick together in places they shouldn’t.. This is mostly a problem when the doe is so young thst the vet hss to poke aroundå to find the ovaries and uterus for removal. It great that these are the same vets, because vets are aware of this possible…[Read more]

Not any more droppings than usual. His appetite has been good,  he has lots of hay to graze on and I’ve started giving him rosehips which are really good for their teeth. I took a look at his teeth and they look okay as far as I can tell! He has a vet visit on April 30th for a nail trim and his vaccine so maybe I could move that up if I’m stil…[Read more]
