So i gave Luna her salad around 5pm which she happily started eating. I also gave her half a treat which she came running for. Now she’s producing small poops and didn’t want to eat half of a treat when I offered it too her. Haven’t seen her eat pellets today and when I offered her some she didn’t want them. She just finished her salad. Her litter…[Read more]

Hi Bumble! I don’t know much about wood burning as a practice but my only worry off the bat would be if the buns go to chew on the toy and they inadvertently consume carcinogens in the burned wood. I’m not sure if it’s an amount that is overly concerning (i.e. when we eat a little burnt toast it likely isn’t a big deal), but making it a normal…[Read more]

It’s from the flash, which I hate but my room is a bit dark so no flash photos aren’t great.

What sort of direct social stimulation does she get? While our experiences are not the same, I’ve had my Wick since 2mo, and I know there was a time when I thought he was not super pleased because he never flopped, binky’d, etc.. I came to the realization that while he is with me all day, I’m not actively attending to him, so in a way I’m just…[Read more]

I would keep them separated — this is the fundamental and often enduring challenge of trying to have friends of two different species. They do not communicate in the same language. Regardless if positive intentions or not, if the nature of the interactions put either pets at risk, it is best to keep them separate from each other for their safety.

I dont want to make light of your situation, even though my gut feeling is that Daisy has a great life. Does Daisy have enough room to do binkies? Rabbits need more space than previously believed, at least for some part of the day. Binkies aren’t absolutely required -for bun happiness – sometimes they’re even a sign of stress.  Its a lot more…[Read more]

Daisy loves my cat. Whenever she’s on my bed with me and my cat jumps up and lays down, my bunny runs to her. My cat, Ruby likes to observe Daisy from a distance. Whenever Daisy approaches Ruby, Ruby runs away. I think my cat gets startled by Daisy’s sudden movements.  Although Ruby has never hurt Daisy (shes swatted her, but with no claws), I…[Read more]

Daisy is 1 1/2 and I’ve had hwr since she was 2 months old. She eats/drinks normally. She is a little more shy around other family members, but that just because I’m with her the most. Though, even when she was younger, she never did binkies or zoomies either

How long have you had Daisy and how old is she?

Adult rabbits are typically a lot less prone to doing binkies etc than young rabbits. It’s kind of the same with humans, tbh. Kids and teenagers frolick about and do binkies, adults less so. This is normal.

If Daisy’s appetite is good, her poop is good, if she drinks (or eats fresh veg) and pees…[Read more]

My Daisy doesn’t ever really show that she’s happy. She doesn’t do Binky’s or zoomies. She doesn’t purr. She doesn’t nessicarily seem UNhappy, but the most she does is nudge stuff, throw toys and hop. Is she unhappy or juat unexpressive?

I think Luna is either angry at me or she’s just going the bathroom there and giving me the yeah I’m being a brat look.

Good idea, I might look into a small one @Moonshadow, just have to figure out how to set it up so any cording in bun safe.

He did sneeze a little bit last night, though less often and quieter, and his nose looked irritated, but so far today I haven’t heard him sneeze and his nose doesn’t look irritated any more (it was slightly reddish). I figure…[Read more]

I buy wood stove pellets. The price has gone up 75% this year, but they’re still the most affordable option.

A litterbox screen would be great. The dry poopies can be collected and used as plant fertilizer.

I looked through my old notes about fly strike, from a webbinar by UK vet Richard Saunders (quite the celebrity as vets go) He says fly…[Read more]

My vote is the last idea, “Ok my turn now!”. I think it’s good you stopped the cheek fur pulling, face nipping always makes me nervous.

I think I read somewhere that digging a scrape can be a way of marking territory, so that could be why you are seeing the digging at the blankets.

That sounds like an improvement! I would repeat that date a few more times before increasing the length of time.

Yes it’s definitely OK to be in the pen with them at this point. When you get to longer sessions where they need less intervention it’s good to step out of the pen, but for now it’s best to be right in there with them so you can…[Read more]

It looks slightly better but is still very wet. Whatever the source, prolonged dampness can cause other issues, like fungal infections.  I also notice it looks like he’s squinting in these pics? Could just be the flash or camera angle but squinting is also a sign of pain.

I don’t worry too much about the dry poops, but using the screen helps with that because you can dump all the poops first, then scoop out the urine soaked areas.

Also if you can buy your pine pellets from a feed or farm store they are sold as horse stall bedding. A 40 lb bag usually costs around $8 or 9. Lots of people get them at Tractor Supply.
