Aww i would love a camera but unfortunately we’re going to be in a sort of camping situation without reliable internet access.
I was able to pick up some of the horse version of panacur so I’m going to try that. I talked to my friend at the rescue and she said that’s what she’s always used, and mixed with some banana baby food to make it more…[Read more]

My beloved rabbit passed away 2 days back, now my Survivor rabbit is hiding away and sitting in one corner with hunched posture and grinding her teeth. She is also streching weird after sleep. Is this normal grieving in rabbits when one bonded rabbit dies or is there any serious problem?

That’s a good idea! And Teddy will lick his meds off a plate if mixed with a generous squirt of simethicone, fwiw. I hope the panacur helps, and I’m so glad the vet has come around on the meloxicam!! Good for you for taking the video to show her.
Also: I don’t know if this would help, but fwiw, we sometimes set up a “bunnycam” (just a la…[Read more]

Hey.
Very occasionally I find a cecotrope that has been stood on/squished and upon closer inspection its actually part cecotrope part regular poop? It looks all joind together kind of like – cecotrope- poop – cecotrope – poop cluster rather than just a cecotrope cluster.
I can just tell its Glenns and as bun parents I imagine you can also…[Read more]

Thank you!
I’m less worried about side effects with the panacur than I am about having to actually give him meds he doesn’t like! He’s pretty wiley to handle so I wouldn’t really trust or expect a pet sitter to give him that type of med.
I might see if I can just grab some from the feed shop, I know the goat formula can be dosed for buns and…[Read more]

Aww poor little Bun Jovi! Sounds like you are making progress with treatment though which is good! Panacur is super common in buns amd I’ve never heard of side effects so I’m sure it will all be fine but understand the wanting to wait. I’m glad shes finally on board with the metacam now. I would imagine the benefits of a reliable metacam dose…[Read more]

Yes I definitely feel much better about things now! Although I’m nervous about giving him a new med while I’m gone… really hoping it arrives tomorrow so I can at least give the first dose and observe for 24 hrs. If he won’t take it willingly then I think we are just going to have to wait till I’m back to start treatment unfortunately. I’m…[Read more]

Whew, that does sound like a relief! Vets and other doctors can be very set in their ways, and I’m glad that she isn’t trying to taper his Metacam. Fingers crossed for the Panacur treatment!

Just got back from the vet and it was a much better experience this time. We talked through his new developments and she agreed the cataract was very noticeable (and hadn’t been there at his recent appointment), and there was a bit of haze forming in his other eye as well. She checked his eye pressure to rule out glaucoma and it was normal, so…[Read more]

As strange as it sounds I was hoping it might be an abscess when we first went in as I know those are fairly easily treated. Unfortunately, it wasn’t an abscess. Vet was able to get some living cells from the lump with a needle. The procedure thankfully didn’t seem to bother Ta at all. So reassuring to hear that you can remove tumors!!! I didn’t…[Read more]

I think they’ve gotten better.
I have VERY long hair and am rapidly going bald. My hair is everywhere. No hair wraps on this thing. The only thing it doesn’t like is large pieces of broken dishes.

Good luck and please keep us posted! I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this stingy vet. Good idea to film him!

Thank you so much!! And I totally agree, LBJ – I tried the blow drying on low after a suggestion here and he really does like it! It also seems to help to try to have his grooming sessions feel as close to bunny grooming as possible. A baby brush helps, and cleaning crust around his eyes with the wadded up end of a nontoxic wet wipe (we use th…[Read more]
