Unfortunately, as horrifying some people can be with how they care for their animals, there is nothing you can do.
If she wants a rabbit enough there are many sites (GumTree, Facebook etc…) where they don’t even check the living space of where the rabbit will be sleeping let alone if the person is adequate enough to give the living animal the car…[Read more]

Hello Guys,
I have been using hay from a website online for ages but recently ran out and got the basic stuff from a near by pet shop, I then noticed after a week of using it that both out rabbits are covered in mites, our vets are currently closed and not open til Tuesday and this doesn’t deem as an emergency. I was told in the past to use J…[Read more]

This girl in my class told me last month about her rabbit after finding out I have one. She neglected it for the year she had him and for the last few months did not feed him. Judging from what she told me I have no doubt that every aspect of care was horrifying. She told me how her rabbit was falling over when he stood and was just really really…[Read more]

haha! All good questions!
Semi-neutral (in my mind at least) is somewhere within smell or sight of their home turf, but not within the old home territory. I have on occasion had to skip the “semi-neutral” zone and just did my best to neutralize their final home as much as possible. One time I did the semi-neutral thing I used my kitchen, and then…[Read more]

Update!
We got a call from the professor, he said that there were some interesting results. He can’t give a diagnosis yet, but something is definitely up!
He compared her hormone levels to those of an intact male and a spayed female. The spayed female has no hormones, the intact male has a lot of hormones, and Molly has a bit of hormones which…[Read more]

Oh it’s good to hear someone else’s experience with this! I actually just came across a recent research publication that similarly suggested penicillin shots may not be as effective as oral antibiotics, so I suppose we will just have to go the oral antibiotic route. I’ll still voice my concerns with the vet so we can have a backup plan in place…[Read more]

Talk about ups and downs Azerane… Luna must be a medical miracle, I’ve never heard of rabbits surviving that. Really hoping that something can be done for her.
Aww man, Australia is one of the worst places for a bunny to live. I hate it that they haven’t approved the vaccine for pets, it’s so needlessly cruel 😥 It’s not like they’ll…[Read more]

With the skin being so clean, I have thoughts of either a molting spot or it was a scab from a wound that has now fallen off. If you pluck the other side of her face in that area, does fur molt off easily? Any where else on the face either?

My Wick was treated with PenG shots for syphilis. It was paired with oral azithromycin though because for a separate reason, Wick had received PenG shots earlier in his life (before we knew he had syphilis) so the logic was, well, if he still has syphilis now after that, perhaps we should add another med just in case PenG isn’t effective.
Wick…[Read more]

Oh dear… We watched a documentary called “Remarkable rabbits” and it showed that urine marking is a typical male way of saying: “You and me, hun!”. I’m happy to report a week of dry nights: I rolled up an old towel and lay that against me now. Owen still hops onto the bed and comes to look for a treat, but I haven’t received any love…[Read more]

Free-roaming goes in small steps and doesn’t happen right from the start. Especially if they’re young they’re still very destructive, and some bunnies may never become free-roamers. Others can free-roam but go back to their pen at night. And all of that’s okay.
Owen is a little over a year old now and we let him free-roam at night. He stopped…[Read more]

Gaah, she’s adorable! I’d forgive her for eating a hole through all of my clothes, the sofas, and every last item in my pantry. Cute and mischievous, what a mix!

Glad to hear that the pain meds are doing something for him. It’s good that you noticed that he doesn’t purr anymore, it’s very telling. It’s the most awful decision that you have to make for your pet, but giving them dignity and sparing them suffering is the best you can do. I’m hoping that he’ll have some good days still, our thoughts are with you.
