It’s been a week now, she improved quite a bit, but not fully there yet. Her poop has been pretty regular in size until now I noticed a couple stringed poop and some small ones, i am wondering if this is the before or after effect?
- She was possibly bothered by the hairball before, and now it is finally clearing it up  OR

At 6 weeks, buns are as a rule weaned. They’re often taken from the mother at that age, but are kept together with their siblings for another 2 weeks. She should be fine with you, but she is of course very young and vulnerable. Somehow I get the feeling she might be better off with you than if she were to go back to the breeder.
It’s a bit…[Read more]

I’m not familiar with that method but I’ve seen it around the internet… I imagine it would be hard to completely eliminate the mites that way. I would think that the risk of re-infection would be higher, so you might end up dealing with it for a lot longer? I would also steer clear of the ones that involved essential oils since rabbits can be…[Read more]

Thanks, I’ve looked up what I can do to cure ear mites and a lot of people have said to put oil in the ear. Do you think that would help? Would that hurt him? If needed I’ll get Revolution but if I can try oil for free I would rather that as long as it doesn’t hurt him.

I’m very sorry you and your bun are going through this.
I dont have any experience with heart problems in buns. I had a dog with a similar problem. An enlarged heart is weak, and you often treat with diuretics (to reduce body swelling from fluid build up) and ACE inhibitors. We’d be very grateful to know what drugs you were…[Read more]

Lol good idea!
That little scab looks like it could maybe be very early ear mites? I would see if you can send that pic to your vet and have them prescribe Revolution. It’s commonly used for fleas on rabbits as well so I wouldn’t expect it to be a problem and won’t hurt even if it doesn’t end up being mites.
(FYI You may already know this but as…[Read more]

I’m a first time rabbit owner. We bought our first rabbit, a six week old Netherland Dwarf, last night. After spending all night researching rabbit care, I now know that we made a mistake in buying a six week old rabbit from a breeder. I feel so bad. How serious a mistake is this? Should I ask the breeder to take the baby back for a couple weeks…[Read more]

Ali_bun started the topic I want to crochet a bunny bed in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 6 years, 4 months ago
I don’t have my bunnies yet, but I’m planning to get a bonded pair. I am a bit tight on cash and want to save however I can. Luckily, I know how to crochet, and buying yarn is much cheaper than buying an actual bunny bed. If I made it out of 100% wool or cotton, would that be okay for the bunnies? I wouldn’t want it to hurt them if they chewed on it.
