Thanks for all your input! He has no couch access when we’re not watching TV. He has peed on my wife 3 times while she was napping on the couch and once for me. He likes to jump onto the couch and loaf with us, but we shoo him off once he starts to digging or wiggling his butt. We’re not taking any chances with him!

We have not done any clicker…[Read more]

Is this like the crocheted cat beds I’ve seen floating around online? They are super cute! I agree with Dana though, not very practical for bunnies. Perhaps, if you really wanted to make one to show off your talent, you could use it for photo shoots only? I don’t see one of the issues Dana mentioned arising if the bunny is supervised and they just…[Read more]

Hi Michaela, I’m sorry I didn’t see this post sooner. It was way at the bottom of the list because this is an old thread. Just so you know, we discourage reviving old threads because it causes confusion. This thread is a year old. Most members have not returned since the forum reopened, so I doubt Cocoa will see this anytime soon.

Hey! I know I’m very late and all this has already happened but I’m just curious how all this turned out. You’ll have to update us, and honestly, the IKEA Hol is very expensive! Even the smaller version is $100. https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/hol-side-table-acacia-90353021/ Hope all is well now that it’s been a year!

ashlyn started the topic rabbit suddenly died a while back and I still don't really know why in the forum RAINBOW BRIDGE 6 years, 4 months ago

I used to have a black rabbit who was healthy and young, at least to my knowledge. I’m not sure what kind she was, but she was fairly large. One day, she got sick and suddenly passed. After a year and a half, I still don’t know what caused it and how I could’ve prevented it. To give some background, the second week of January 2018 I got her from a…[Read more]

We slowly are yes. It’s hard, I’m not really sure what the best thing to do is. We started by keeping one in a cage and one out so they could sniff each other and then we would hold them when they were close.

Hay is very important. Pellets contain hay, but they don’t wear the teeth down like actual hay does. You could try feeding him fresh grass, as long as it hasn’t been treated with pesticides or other chemicals. Hay is grass, after all.

It’s actually normal for there to be a little bit of dampness under the nose. This is condensation. Sneezing…[Read more]

Haha! I’m glad that clarifies things! I think we are all the submissive ones in our relationships with our bunnies! Lol. Bun Jovi pretty much glues his head to the floor and just waits for someone to come pet him.

Sounds like a good plan for the next date!

I had an interesting convo about rabbit obsessions with the lead at the rescue I volunteer at, and she draws a lot from dog literature to understand bunny behavior. Often when dogs are obsessed with something it appears to be scent driven. So I wonder if there is some smell on that couch that bun just HAS to mark?

I know at one point Bertha was…[Read more]

I know they have a reason to be concerned, but the vet that could check him only takes clients in especific hours and only one at the time.

He doesn’t get much hay, since is rare to find it, and when he does get it is the processed kind, and it isn’t dusty, he does like to get under my parents bed and there are some dust bunnies under there.

    But…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic how to tell a bunny no in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago

All joking aside, I’ve had the best luck with redirection to safe alternatives and blocking off problem areas (ceramic tiles for carpet, cube grids to block under the bed, etc.).  When Bertha would get really obsessed with digging in an area I would occasionally sprinkle her with water from a spray bottle. Not a full stream, more like a few drops…[Read more]

    Hey!

I don’t own any rabbits but have done tons of research. I hope that you can eventually get her (I’m assuming the bun is a doe?) off that table scrap diet. I haven’t tried these pellets (obviously can’t if I don’t own a bun) but they are generally trusted. https://www.amazon.com/Oxbow-Bunny-Basics-Rabbit-Alfalfa/dp/B001CQGMNA/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2…[Read more]

Haha! Well, hopefully they will at least try to be creative with the names then. 😉

Let’s hope they are both boys. They can be neutered as soon as their testicles drop, which means they can be bonded sooner. Don’t be fooled by baby bunny bliss. Baby bunnies like everybody and will generally get along. All of that can rapidly go out the window…[Read more]

Young, growing bunnies should be free-fed. This means “unlimited” access to pellets and hay.
