Vanessa95 started the topic eye goop? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
I have been noticing my bunny, Spike has started to have goop come out of his eye. I searched it up and saw that you should put a warm cloth gently to their eye, but it doesn’t seem to do much. It takes some of it away.
It only seems to be one of his eyes. Any idea why this could be happening?

You’re welcome! The porch seems like a good option. I would just keep letting them interact. I bet you are right in that he is mounting because she hasn’t groomed him back yet. I think with timid rabbits especially they really have to trust the other bun before submitting to groom them. Often things will finally just click, rather than having slow…[Read more]

I can try taking them out to our porch, it rains here really often so maybe there won’t be a smell? We aren’t in any of the states the rabbit virus outbreak has been seen in so I feel like it’s safe enough.
I only intervene if he starts nipping at her bum but otherwise I let them figure it out because all that goes on is mounting and she might…[Read more]

This sounds strikingly similar to what I went through with my most recent two, where they would be awesome for hours and then squabbles would pop up, after being together for a day. In my case, I solved it by moving the marathoning to an entirely new, super neutral spot (my friend’s garage, lol). Is there another area of your home you could try?…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic bloating? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
With bloating I believe the whole abdomen swells up and feels hard, so if it’s a lump it seems like it would be something else?
If he’s eating and pooping normally, and doesn’t seem in pain (no tooth grinding, squinting, or sitting hunched), I would monitor, and ask the vet about it tomorrow. If you are able to bring him in they can tell you if…[Read more]

I can’t seem to figure out how to add more photos darn it! They are so sweet and cute I’m dying to show more pictures of them LOL
We got to meet the Mama bun and she is the flemish giant, she was a nice hearty size. Not super big, but in general bigger than most bunnies we’ve encountered haha. Sort of like the size of a large cat, if that makes…[Read more]

To clarify, there still have been no actual fights. A little mounting and circling and nora pushing him away every now and then but nothing overtly aggressive at all

Update on the process!! We’re having a weird time with it? They go from being okay with eachother to being annoyed with eachother day by day. They can be in the car together for hours and snuggle and share food but the squealing every time Theo approaches hasn’t calmed down at all and we’re still having mounting issues from Theo but then we also…[Read more]

If the poops continue to stay small, then I would be on alert. Sometimes poop may normally become a bit small, especially if we know the rabbit is ingesting more fur than usual due to a heavy shed.
Do you find she’s eating a lot of hay now, a week following the procedure?

Hi Bunnie,
I’m sorry to hear about the concerns you have for your rabbit’s nails! It is very observant of you to notice these bumps and investigate whether they are normal or not. What would be most informative is having photos. As mentioned above, they may just be normal calluses, but having a vet check them is always the safest bet!
We have a…[Read more]

Hi
I’m new and I saw this post and I noticed the other day my bunnie had the bumps by his nails like on these photos.
Just wanted to clarify are these normal and should I be worried.
Thanks

my name’s Arianna and my little holland lop, Obsidian, has proven to be quite difficult to care for. I did rescue him from living in a cage out of a car with a big dog, and from conversation I know that he was handled very poorly with his previous owner. However, I’ve had him for a year and I’ve tried a lot of things in an effort to help, but I…[Read more]

It’s more of a lump by the rib cage thank you so much for the videos and pics that was very helpful. I don’t think it’s a full stomach although he did eat this morning.
