It’s hard because Oliver’s X-Pen is in in the corner of my room, reaching out into about half of my room. His area has a bookcase type thing inside his area. If I were to try to adjust it a bit, the best I could do is him looking at my bed, which he’s had accidents on. Judgement is free roam for the rest of my room (hes pretty good about my…[Read more]

Glad their health is good. 🙂
Hmmm, can you describe the set up a bit more? Maybe you can just block part of the area that faces the other bunny’s area, but allow him to see the rest of the room?
Not sure if one is free roam, but it might be worth penning them both for the time being to make sure things are fair to each bunny (and will make it…[Read more]

Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely try that out. That’s the weird thing he does have a litter box I use a closed litter box and fill half with shredded paper and the other half with his hay (I got the idea from Lennon the bunny). But every now and then he would just go over to the wee pad and lay on it. I would say he’s been acting this…[Read more]

hi, I’m not sure why he is laying on the wee pad maybe because it smells like your dogs? you might want to try lightly spraying half vinegar half water onto the pad (I got a holland lop about 5 months ago and this helps when I don’t want him on my bed) and you might want to get a litter box for your rabbit filled with hay on one side.

Ok so I have 2 dogs(chihuahua’s) and a free roam rabbit(New Zealand white) who are the best of friends. My dogs use wee pads in the house my rabbit pretty much taught himself how to use the wee pads after smelling the area after my dogs used it. Lately my rabbit has been laying on the wee pads both before and after my dog uses it. It’s strange…[Read more]

Hi!
yeah the too many veggies is the conclusion that I’ve come to also- when he first had stasis I had just gotten a huggeee box of greens really cheap and I overdid it way to much and he got heaps and then bam stasis. His stomach will get a little hard during stasis but gas drops help HEAPS. He actually really likes the crit care off the plate…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Wet nose issue? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Is the fur caked/stuck together? That would be an indication that a bunny has an actual runny nose. If the fur around the nose and mouth are just wet, it could be from the water bowl.

Hi MarzipanBun, yes we’ve been discussing a pinned post or announcement about this, but since the forum is still technically under construction we haven’t quite gotten there! We are very concerned here in S CA. The short answer to your question is that it can be transferred from hay, but most hay is over a year old (Oxbow has something about this…[Read more]

Hello,
I have a male Bun of which was a throwaway in the neighborhood. So, I have no history on him. I have had him for 4 years or so. he lives indoors in his own room. He is friendly except won’t let you pick him up. He was an adult I am sure when I found him. Trimming nails by myself is not ever been fully achieved and I end up spending a la…[Read more]

Hi all. I’m not sure if anybody already brought this up, but I read about a recent disease that’s killing a lot of domestic rabbits in North America called rabbit hemorrhagic disease. What are the signs of this and can it be transferred through hay to my rabbit?

i recently changed Nibbles water bowl to a metal one because she kept tipping it and throwing it for fun. But today I noticed that it looked like her nose was runny (which I know can be an indicator for a sinus issue). After watching her for a bit I saw that I think it is just getting wet from her drinking. Could that be a problem/concern?

Thank you sooo much for the reply, you gave me good advise! I was thinking the same thing, take a break and start over. Would you suggest blankets on his X-pen so they cant see one another? My only issue is I feel so bad because then Oliver cant see anything but walls and blankets.
Also dont worry, their health is good right now and only took a…[Read more]

Ughhh so stressful! And OMG that picture is so cute!
Does he seem gassy when he’s at the beginning of the slow-downs? The only thing I can think of is maybe it’s too many veggies? After one of my bunnies passed away I didn’t reduce the amount of veggies accordingly for my remaining bun, and I realized he was getting gassy and uncomfortable in the…[Read more]

Hi Alex,
A bit more info will help us understand the situation a bit better. Are all of the rabbits spayed/ neutered? And have you been working on the bonding process with them in neutral territory? If you check in the bonding section there is a template that you can fill out and past in your reply. It is super helpful for us in giving you…[Read more]

It always happens on a weekend or public holiday unfortunately and what will happen is he’ll poop a little in the morning and the poop will be smaller so that’s what sets the alarm bells off. By the nighttime there will be no poop and he won’t touch greens but will eat hay and that’s when I start crit care metacam, zantac and gas drops. It happens…[Read more]

I got a bunny for my birthday about a year ago (her name is Pepper) and she lived in a play pen indoors. She was always tugging and biting on her play pen like if she was desperate to get out. About a month ago, I figured it would be a good idea to give her to my best friend who has an outdoor bunny so Pepper could feel more free, be able to run,…[Read more]
