My bun has been quite the handful in the last few days. Tonight was the peak and I’m not really sure what to do. Lately, he has taken up chewing his xpen A LOT and now has learned how to jump on top of his litter box, which would make him able to hop over the xpen panels and escape. I knew to expect it, but I wasn’t ready for him to learn that so…[Read more]

Hi, it has been about a week, and the behavior ceased for a few days but starting yesterday he took up the habit again, and it’s worse than before. I’ve let him free roam all day, and when I put him back inside his xpen for “bedtime” he chewing the bars and pushes them around A LOT, and it’s very very loud and annoying. Is there a way to train him…[Read more]

neutering them can make a WORLD of difference in litter training, they pick it up much more easily and a lot of their territorial marking habits cease.

I dont mean to hijack your post. But we have 2 buns in a 4ft x 6ft pen. We have a normal sized cat litter box for them. They’re still only 12 weeks old and we got them at 8 weeks. We use equine pine pellets in the box with hay on top.

At first they almost exclusively used the litter box. But now they’re peeing outside the box. The poop doesn’t…[Read more]

At the moment it has only been found in Riverside county in CA (Palm Springs). The general guidelines are to assume that it could also be present within 150 miles of the confirmed cases. So, if you are able to find out where your produce is grown more specifically, I would do that. The produce manager at your market should hopefully be able to…[Read more]

    Hello all,

I recently got two New Zealand bunnies who are about eight weeks old and they seem to be breathing extremely fast. However, I know that as smaller animals they respirate faster than humans do, so I’m not quite sure whether to be concerned or not?

I researched this online but found a lot of conflicting information from what should’ve…[Read more]

Bentley has been on Sherwood since he was 2 months and he is almost 2 years old and we love the brand. we were originally on the adult Timothy//alfalfa formula and when we heard about the Timothy formula we switched over (he is not the best hay eater). However i noticed hes not very fond of them. before he would wait by his bowl for pellets but…[Read more]

    Hi everyone!

I have been reading and researching on the RHDV2 and wanted to ask if I should still even buy veggies. Many of the cilantro, lettuce, etc are from California and my local farmers markets don’t have much to choose from. I know I could cut them out for a bit but bentley is always so excited for his morning salad and I would hate to…[Read more]

I’ve been working on trust with my bunny, I really want him to feel comfortable with me grooming him and clipping his nails. I sat down in his pen with the door closed and worked on picking up his paws, and after many flicks and running away, he let me clip one of his nails, and I was also able to file the edge smoother. Although it was only one…[Read more]

The litter switch is probably just a coincidence. I agree with the others. Best to have him checked out.

I agree with Hazel. He most likely has a respiratory infection. My rabbit, OB, had a respiratory infection recently, and thankfully, it is very easy to treat.  It should be over in a few weeks after taking him to the vet, for treatment.

Maybe try a very shallow wide bowl and see if that helps in the meantime? I always notice Bun Jovi drinking the water from the plate I feed veggies on, even though he also has a full water bowl (which he drinks from as well).

I would also check his chin right after feeding his greens. It could be that he’s chewing differently because of something…[Read more]
