Until you can seek professional veterinary care, getting him in a well ventilated environment and encouraging water and food consumption are the best measures you can do at home.
Also, unsure what “washing off” entails, but make sure you he is gently and properly dried off as baths are generally not recommended for rabbits because of their…[Read more]

Our home ended up being attacked by ants while we were busy cleaning we hurried our bunny to our bathroom that had been previously treated with “safe for pets bug spray.” (Zevo over a week ago) My wife ended up wiping down the floor with some water then dried it in case. We placed him in the bathroom so we could safely clean up the living room…[Read more]

It has come to my attention that rabbits actually shouldn’t have corn husks, should they eat them. I will be removing them from her pen and refraining from giving them to her unsupervised in the future. (she does not have a blockage—she never ate them much, mostly chewed holes and shredded them, and hasn’t touched any in days) I do usually try t…[Read more]

I got my young English lop a couple of months ago. We have had very few problems other than the fact that I can’t seem to find suitable things, hides in particular, for her size. I’ve tried cardboard boxes, as many people seem to recommend, but she tears them open and flips them over to sit on them, so she may need something a bit heavier to fun…[Read more]

Well more then one scuffle to start with, first few times someone broke through my bunny proofing rooms ( vale ) and got into the fight with the other two resulting in blood and a missing chunk of ear when he was unfixed.
We had some really good progress for a week before my one cat thought my sheet and make shift roof was solid and broke Cid…[Read more]

Ginger&Seal replied to the topic Rabbit Tipping Over While Walking in the forum BEHAVIOR 2 years, 6 months ago
She is on Cisapride, metoclopramide, and meloxicam. I took her to the vet on October 7th because her appetite has decreased a lot and they noticed her back molars were a bit too sharp so they trimmed it down. But her appetite still hasn’t gotten to her usual self and now I’ve noticed the tipping even when she shakes her head she tips over.
I am…[Read more]

What medication is she on for her mobility?
The combo of reduced mobility and loss of balance sounds like it could be EC. Loss of balance can also be due to ear infection.

Hi everyone, my female bunny is not feeling her self and is taking medication for her mobility. One thing i noticed after i stopped giving her medication is that she tipped over on one side when she was walking back to her hideyhouse. I have never seen her do this before.

Sorry I’m a bit unsure of your question, I had trouble reading your initial post. From the sound of it you have only been doing bonding a couple weeks and then there was a scuffle due to someone getting out of their pen?
It sounds like maybe things have settled down and they are doing ok in sessions again?

As frustrating as it can be, one month isn’t very long. “Ignoring” them is really the best approach . In other words, “play hard to get”. Spend time with bun but don’t try to pet her. Hand feeding is great. Clicker training is also great to interact with a bun that isn’t ready for petting yet. It’s very normal for buns to run away with their…[Read more]

Hello again.
Good news, the vet still feels there’s nothing serious at the moment. Their general health is good. Heart, lungs, teeth, temperature all fine. Possibly a seasonal issue that will clear upz although I’m not convinced by that. Just going with Metacam for now rather than more antibiotics.
Bad news, I’ve been quoted £1,040 for a…[Read more]

Are you sure it’s skin and not molting fur? Sometimes buns get a very unusual looking molt line. From the picture it looks like it could be a molt line but it’s hard to tell.
My other thought is it could be an abscess or some sort of growth, which should definitely be seen by a vet

So over the past few days, I’ve noticed that one of my rabbits, Kit, has been getting like a sort of flap or excess bit of skin on her belly. It’s almost like how a human would look after getting liposuction. It sags so low that it even touches the ground and although she doesn’t seem to be in any pain, I still want to figure out what this could…[Read more]

Hello LBJ10.
I was wondering if that was an option, I will look into that. Thanks.
