You should separate them from each other. Two separate living enclosures with at least a space in between, as rabbits have been known to mate and harm each other through a cage wall. Since hormones have emerged, they may fight each other and/or mate, if one of them is actually a male. Both males and females hump, so unless you see one of them has…[Read more]

Normal, especially if the lighting is bright. However, nothing is creepier than a flopped bunny sleeping with their eyes open, the pupil constricted because the eye pointed toward the light.

Thanks! That’s a good point. I’d like to try bringing her to the litter box before she has an accident, but besides from the tail lift I have no other cues. She pees so quickly too. Is there a way she would stand right before she pees that could tell me she’s about to go?

Three months ago, I adopted two bunnies that were both supposedly females. Within the last month or two, one bunny have began mounting and mating with the other. At first, I had read that humping could be a sign of dominance, but it hasn’t stopped. Sometimes the second bunny will sit still whiles it happens and other times she runs away. I wont be…[Read more]

I used to put her hay on one end, and the litter box on the other end and she would be peeing and poking over the whole cage. Last night I put the hay over to the side of the litter box and the litter box was completely soaked with pee and poo this morning!

    Hi PastelBunny!

What I found in my research is that this could be a problem that can come and go, it can be caused by bacteria or fungi, it can also be due to dental issues. What this might be is conjunctivitis or pink eye. I don’t think it is a very serious thing to worry about, just like the pick eye is to us, it will just irritate your bunny,…[Read more]

Since she’s only 8 weeks old, I’m doubting dental problems. A runny eye can be caused by a blocked tear duct or even a URI. If it’s dry right now, you could try cleaning it up and then seeing if it comes back. If it doesn’t come back, then it could be eye irritation (dust, hay poked eye, etc.).

I haven’t used it before. It isn’t listed on MediRabbit, but I believe it is being used “off-label” for rabbits (like many other antibiotics).

Hormonal behaviors should not be confused with personality. Generally speaking, yes, bunnies do change after spaying/neutering. The hormonal behaviors are gone (or greatly reduced) and their true personality starts to shine through.

Also keep in mind that you should never assume anything about a bunny’s personality when they are a baby. Baby…[Read more]

Today I was watching my bun sleep and I noticed his pupils were super small. It was a bit frightening but I just wanted to confirm if this was normal?

Quick update: I snuggled with Hunny for a tiny bit this afternoon and got some adorable little kisses 🙂 She then went back inside her tube, and only just emerged to nibble on the top of a piece of broccoli. That’s the only thing she’s eaten today aside from a strawberry top (the leaves and the tiniest bit of surrounding fruit), as far as I can…[Read more]
