So we can stay in free roam endlessly, but Wick quickly adopts a dynamic at charging at Fable when she tries to navigate around. So it’s working due to avoidance and settling.

We have moved the pen into the living space so the benefit of the small size can broach into the scent/environment of the free roam space. Hoping this helps. Already,…[Read more]

Hi!, sorry, I’m hoping ya’ll might have some good advice?

I have gotten a 8 week old bunny (lionhead) about two days ago, my first rabbit in about 20 years  (I names her Mary Lou).

We made a nicely sized indoor pen for her (it meets the requirements and then some for a rabbit her size, we did a lot of research on how to make it and are pretty…[Read more]

Some bunnies are OK with a tummy rub while laying down on the ground as well, if you just massage a bit without lifting them up at all. Glad to hear she’s perked back up!

    Hi thanks for the advice!

I’ll try my best to give her tummy massages or lift her bottom in the carrier i have later this morning (its currently 2:24am where i live haha)

I’ll also drag my parents out to get the baby gas drops and give her some 😊

If you have a carrier with an opening in the top, you could put her in there and try to do a tummy massage. You can also try to just lift her bottom up a little bit, to help the gas move along. I second the Simethicone, my guy gets gas sometimes during a shed, and so far it has worked every time.

Hey i feed my bunnies unlimited hay, small portion of pellets according to their weight and for veggies i feed them a mix between green and red romaine, British spring greens and the sorta spikier green and red lettuce if its in the shops. I feed her a decent sized bowl (perhaps the size of a cat bowl?) of veggies everyday.

I was debating if i…[Read more]

Just a side note since you mentioned binkying in your last post. Binkies aren’t always a sign of happiness, it’s something rabbits do during a fight to avoid an opponent’s attack. So during bonding, it can actually be sign of things getting tense.

    Welcome to BB! 🙂

I’m glad Moni is okay. That was a close call, luckily you found her in time. Maybe encourage your dad to stop using glue traps? They are very cruel and as you’ve seen, can also be dangerous (even deadly) for your pets.

Yeah sounds like a good plan! If it starts getting more intense at all then you know to separate right away.

In the Before Times when lots of people were not working from home all the time I would tend to advise exactly what Wick said, since things can happen really quickly when you aren’t there to supervise. Also keep in mind things tend to get…[Read more]

Oh yes I like the idea of paper bags too! I hate all the garbage produced by those pee pads, but they do come in really handy for certain situations.

It does sound like she’s perhaps a bit gassy. I would keep offering hay especially, critical care is good too, and any favorite greens (but make sure they aren’t gas-causing ones, like broccoli, cabbages, or even kale in some buns). Encouraging some gentle movement can also help with gas.

It’s good to have some favorite foods to offer if you ever…[Read more]

@Louiethebunny that is a great idea! I will definitely try that out and it sounds much more cost efficient then having to purchase pee pads. Thank you so much for all the advice!!!

    Hi DanaNM,

Thank you for sharing your advice!

I am currently working from home, so I can supervise them pretty well.

The chasing was not intense at all. They’d make a couple quick hops to try to mount the other but then they’d back off and start binkying. There was no circling. Sometimes the one being mounted would just hop away and lie dow…[Read more]

@DanaNM Ok, that is what I thought. I’ve been using the pee pads under the litter pans for about a day now and they have not chewed them so I think they are going to be perfect. They are working great and making clean up way easier!!! Thank you so much for all the advice!

Yes, I did increase his amount of pellets, so that could be the cause. I think I will just add more bedding into his litter box because it does a good job soaking up the urine and reducing the smell.

Hi thanks for responding so quickly 😊 i offer her both a bottle and bowl but she seems to just turn her nose up at both of them.

I think she had a bit of gas too and i will look for the baby drops for her/for any future occurrences.

Sometimes she sits in a superman pose and flopped today but sometimes she sits hunched and this is one of the…[Read more]

One method I’ve seen to help find the claws in long fur is using a piece of mesh or lace the claw can go through but surrounding fur is pushed back by. Never tried myself as my buns don’t have long fur but might be worth a go!
